What is Global Warming? Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the earth’s near-surface air and ocean It happens when greenhouse gases trap heat and light in the earth’s atmosphere
Causes of Global Warming Some causes of global warming are burning of plastics, release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands, climate change and volcanoes. This which effects to thinning of the ozone – layer .
Explanation : When the plastics are burned, there are chemicals released that cause the thinning of the ozone – layer. When the ozone – layer gets thinner and thinner, it starts to have holes. Then the sun, as the main source of light
Its rays reaches the earth. Because of the ozone layer has holes its rays also known as ultraviolet rays enter the earth. Some rays get out after bouncing to the earth but, others are trapped which cause the increase in the average temperature of earth.
Solutions Some solutions are: Avoid burning plastics Instead of using plastic bags while shopping use bags that can be washed and be used again Avoid using Styrofoams Practice the 3R’s
