3. Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
The shape and structure of the main body represent the animal well and it is easily identifiable as a Giraffe. I
managed to successfully recreate the features of the face, including the eyes and nose. The gradient of the
markings on the animal work well to represent the real thing, and give the image tone. The colours I have used
to create the image portray a giraffe well, and are fit for purpose.
What would you improve if you did it again?
If I were to do the image again I would think about adding texture and shadow to make the image look more
3D and realistic. I would also try to make the edges around the animal more smooth so that the outline is
neater.
5. Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
My Rotoscope image is easily identifiable as an Orangutan. The colours I have used are appropriate for the
animal, and the different tones work well with the image. Using the Polygonal Lasso tool in Photoshop made it
easier to create a more true-to form shape and features, compared to just using the shapes tool and having to
warp the shape each time.
What would you improve if you did it again?
If I were to do this task again, I would add more detail, such as texture and shadows. I would also include more
tones to make the image less flat and more interesting. I would try to ensure all the sections of the images
were lined up more closely, as in my image there are a few gaps.
7. Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I prefer the images on the right, as they are more interesting and unique than the images on the left.
They are much more simplistic, as the only tools used were the tracking and leading tools, which only
changed the spacing of the image.
The top right image of text was created using the clipping mask tool, allowing me to place an image into
the text. Then, by using the layers styles I was able to select the stroke tool, and the drop shadow tool to
emphasise the outline of the letters.
The bottom right image was made after rasterizing the text, and then using the perspective tool to
change the perception of the image. After that I used the warp tool to slightly distort the image. To then
emphasise the shape I created with the letters, I used layer styles to add a gradient overlay onto my
image, choosing a light to dark colour range, and then selecting the drop shadow and stroke tools to
outline each letter more clearly.
What would you improve if you did it again?
If I were to do this task again I would use more techniques and tools in Photoshop to make more
interesting and usual text. I could do this by using patterns or textures within my text. I could also use
deeper shadows, or contours, giving them a bolder look, to make my letters stand out more. For my
gradient image, I could use a more complex gradient, with more colours, to make a very tonal image.
