The Jack of All Trade Universe is an online marketplace that permits its users to transact goods and services in exchange with money, Bitcoin, time, direct barter or exchange, and the JoatUnit -- a community-generated currency – as the various means of exchange. The Universe is an international online classifieds broken down by geographic location. The site places a heavy emphasis on exchanges with users at close geographical proximity, with the goal of stimulating a hyper-local community marketplace. The offers/requests can be for goods and services are broken down into either categories or individual buyer-seller profiles. JoatU is an anything-for-anything exchange site. The Unit is a digital means of rewarding community effort. It is a user-created means of exchange. The Units are created through a democratic voting process that allocates them to community-oriented projects and initiatives. The unit has no intrinsic value – its value is derived from its acceptance by other JoatU members.
