in our childhood,

2. when we learn from our
parents

3. and others close to us.

4. As we get older,

5. we create some of our
values ourselves

6. by learning
to make moral judgments

7. and by developing empathy.

8. From birth to age seven,

9. values are primarily
subconsciously imprinted.

10. This is the time

11. when you largely learn
from your parents.

12. The modeling period

13. between
the ages of eight and 13

14. is a time when you

15. consciously and
unconsciously copy your
friends.

16. You form some of your
core values when you're
around ten years old.

17. In the socialization period
between 14 and 21

18. you pick up the values

19. that affect your relationships.

20. Remember, though, that

21. regardless of when your
principles were formed,

22. you can always change them.
