13 CEO habits that could make you
successful
Lots of people consider that there must be some secret to being a
successful CEO, and they could be right. There isn’t an exact recipe,
but there are habits that most successful CEOs tend to take on as part
of their daily routines. These habits reveal, not only their personal
traits, but their professional ones, which are evidently transferred over.
This is why when we see what we can do with our, days and we start
to analyze the day of a successful CEO, it may seem that they
somehow have more hours in the day. They just seem to have time for
everything. Once again, if you analyze the routine of many CEOs they
will all have certain similarities that are working for them. Now, these
are habits and strategies that anyone could implement in their lives.
It’s all about incorporating them in your lives and being consistent.
Although being a CEO will bring with it very specific tasks and
necessities, which you can actually read more about on Jason
Hanold’s SlideShare, the key to success seems to be not only what
they do at the office, but how they go about their lives.
13 CEO habits that could make you
successful
1. GET UP EARLY
Most CEOs will agree that getting up early is key to making sure they
have a productive day. Be it 3:30 am of 5:00 am, most CEOs are up
and about and starting their day to get everything they have planned
done. If you’re up early you are more likely to take time out to do
everything else you’ll find on this list.
2. EXERCISE REGULARLY
Most successful CEOs include an exercise routine in their mix. Some
even take advantage and do them during this extra early morning time
slot. Some go to the gym, while others go for a run. Despite the type of
exercise, they all agree that this time gives them a space to reflect on
the work day ahead, or if they exercise at night, to reflect on the day
that just passed. This boost of energy and reflection time is sue to help
you start your day off on the right foot.

3. MEDITATE EVERYDAY
Meditation is yet another strategy to reflect upon your work
and the activities or decisions that will be made. Once you
begin to meditate you’ll see results, not only at the office, but
at home. Most CEOs who meditate have said that they have
better relationships, sleep better, and better overall health.
4. LESS MEETINGS
In the hopes of being as effective as possible of every minute
of their day, CEOs tend to bring it down when it comes to the
number of meetings they attend. There are even those who
deem them completely unnecessary.

5. ORGANIZE DETAILS
There is so much going on in the life of a CEO, that they tend
to worry about the details. The ones who do this have even
come up with a strategy of taking a space out of your day to
focus on analyzing the details. This way you make sure
you’re up to speed on the details, and co go about your day.
6. CULTIVATE CREATIVITY
Making sure your creativity juices are flowing is key. Most
CEOs make time in their days to do activities or strategies
that will let them explore their creativity.

7. CREATE THE TOMORROW LIST
Thinking about what’s important to do tomorrow today is
another common trait among CEOs. By doing this you’ll know
exactly what you have planned during the next day and make
it as productive as possible. You can go digital with some
really cool apps you can download to your smartphone.
8. CHOOSE THE RIGHT ORDER
Once you know what you have to do, next you’ll need to
figure out which you’ll do first. Most CEOs tackle the most
difficult tasks first. This will let them be a lot of efficient during
the rest of the tasks, and will let them focus more of their
energy on that challenging one.

successful
9. BE HEALTHY
Regularly exercising, and eating well are routines that will
keep your body running smoothly for much longer.
10. LISTEN TO YOUR INTERNAL CLOCK
Selecting the best schedule to keep is quite different for every
CEO to agree on, but what they do all agree on is that you
have to follow your own internal clock. Whereas someone’s
internal clock will tell them they get brilliant ideas at 4:00 am,
someone else’s may love brainstorming at 11:00 pm.
Basically it comes down to doing creative work when it feels
right.

successful
11. FAMILY TIME
Not everything is about work. Successful CEOs take time to share
with their families and friends.
12. ONE AGENDA
All CEOs will agree that keeping everything in one place is ideal
when handling so many responsibilities. Be it a physical agenda, or
a smartphone, they all seem to find a system that works for them.
13. KNOW WHEN TO RELAX
Once you’ve done everything on your list, know when to
disconnect. Most CEOs admit to completely disconnecting once
they are home. This much deserved downtime will make a huge
difference on your life.
