Do you wonder when the best time to send business email is?
This presentation shows you how to test your email, and what day and time to send your marketing emails. Your business email deserves to be read by the most people it can, so send it on good email days, and great email times! These email strategies will help you and your company be more visible on the web, and make more sales!
If open rates translates to sales, then you may a s well get people to open and read your mass email!
Great for any social media employee, marketing manager and any business that wants to see more success from their email campaigns.
2. Assumptions
So, what’s the best day and time to send your targeted mass
emails? The answer is... Whenever it’s right for you!
Because every business is different, every business has to
determine for itself which days and times work best for them.
A nightclub may find that Thursday nights are best, but that
may not be best for email messages about an local early
morning bakery.
Do not simply rely on others ideas
or even on their statistical data.
Whenever it’s right for you,
it’s right. The stats may not
apply to everyone.
3. TheTest
There’s essentially two ways to test emails. The‘just do it’
method and the A/B test.
‘Just do it’means you get started. Send some emails and then
look for patterns. Does the data speak to you in some way over
a period of time? Look for clues and you’ll find them.
A/B testing is a step up in that you run essentially the same
campaign but with two versions. The winner’s in the results!
Regardless of your feelings and
intuition, testing IS the only way.
Regardless of how you look
at the numbers, you have to
look at the numbers.
4. Weekends
Weekends are statistically the worst time to send emails. As it
turns out, most people are out and about and not really all that
engaged in emails over the weekend.
What may happen is your email goes unread. This means it will
be in the inbox on a Monday morning.
There’s only one key to understanding what happens next..
The delete key.
Unless you have a good reason to
send on weekends, don’t.
Monday mornings are heavy
delete days. Being part of that
hasty deletion is not good.
5. Mondays
Get into work on Monday morning and go on an email deletion
rampage. Only‘email gold’and‘to-dos’get through.
Sometimes, even an email that would be actionable another
time or another day gets the boot.
Stats may show increased open rates, but don’t be fooled. You
may be part of the Monday open/delete revolution.
Although open rates may be higher,
so are hasty deletions.
Save yourself the hassle!
Just don’t land in the Monday
morning delete pile.
6. TheBest
Imagine you’ve survived Monday and settled into the week.
Tuesday brings a renewed sense of purpose and organization,
and you’re‘almost’feeling patient as you work into your day.
Now, that’s basically when you want to send your email!
Tuesday and Thursday win over statistically, but midweek is the
clear victor in the‘days to send email’challenge.
Remember to be specific to your audience though!
Now we’re talking! The best times
to send email are during the week!
One study in particular is of
interest. Follow the link at
the end of this presentation.
7. EarlyBird
Chances are, you have the same routine most people do.
Filter through an inbox first thing looking for emails to delete.
Whatever remains is your daily tasks.
So, like most of us, you delete the junk out first thing!
Subsequently, 8:00 - 9:00 AM has the lowest open rate because
of reducing clutter before the day starts.
The early bird enters the recycle bin.
Question... What do you do first thing?
May your competition’s
emails be deleted first
thing in the morning.
8. Lunchtime
Lunchtime for many is a time to regroup and relax momentarily
before taking on the afternoon. Since we’re all so busy these
days, eating at our desks or checking email on our phones is
commonplace.
For a brief moment (between noon and 1pm), we’ll be more
open and receptive to all sorts of emails, sales emails included.
This downtime allows us to peruse, make lists, consider, shop or
plan and dream. Then it’s back to work we go!
Finally, a lunchtime worth
interrupting - SEND YOUR EMAIL!
When we’re starting lunch
is the time to send your
marketing email!
