Part of a panel entitled "Emerging Media Technologies"
I attempt to answer the question: There is an overload of sources for media and information that is constantly updated. How do you filter to read only what's necessary?
3. Media Follows Us Everywhere Email (and now Buzz) Social Media Mobile Reading Devices: Kindle, iPad Even on Plane Flights Print
4. What’s New in New Media? Everyone Is Mobile Location-based Services
5. Audience Poll: Are you using FourSquare or Gowalla? Do they help promote your work at all? Safety and security risks?
6. Media is Everywhere. Do we have to use it all the time? That’s up to you. (I don’t.)
7. Avoiding the overload Don’t try to read everything. (confession: this is my account.)
8. Tips & Tricks Twitter: Use lists, TweetDeck, HootSuite or another service to follow only what matters. Twitter: searches for your issues. Email lists: Let your peers read everything and tell you what matters. Google Reader and Buzz: Good if you check often.
