Origin <ul><li>Handball originated in Europe. </li></ul><ul><li>The sport was an Olympic demonstration sport in 1936 and 1952. </li></ul><ul><li>Became an official Olympic sport in 1972 </li></ul>

Players <ul><li>7 players are allowed on court for each side 6 plus a goalie. </li></ul><ul><li>12 players are allowed to dress out and play for the team. </li></ul><ul><li>Substitutions are allowed but player you are subbing for must be off the court first. </li></ul>

Rules <ul><li>No stalling on possession </li></ul><ul><li>No taking more than 3 steps </li></ul><ul><li>Referee throw is basically a jump ball </li></ul><ul><li>A free throw is when a player is awarded the ball where the foul takes place shooter has to keep 1 foot on court and can pass or shoot. </li></ul><ul><li>On defense you can use your torso to obstruct. </li></ul>

Equipment <ul><li>The ball is like a miniature rubber volleyball. </li></ul><ul><li>It can hurt a goalies hand so bad they are required to wear goalie gloves like in soccer but with more padding. </li></ul>

Winning at Team Handball <ul><li>You score by throwing the ball into the net on your side </li></ul><ul><li>Each goal is worth 1 point </li></ul><ul><li>The game consists of two halves </li></ul><ul><li>An average score is 26-21 </li></ul>
