  1. ALCOHOL DETECTION WITH VEHICLE CONTROLLING Presentedby: 1) BHARGAV JHA 2) SHUBHAM PATEL PROJECT MENTOR: MITESH PRAJAPATI
  2. Presentation Outline Aim of The Project Why This issue important?? Block diagram Hardware description Software discription Advantages & Disadvantages Application Future Scope Work plan References
  3. Why This Issue Important??  Drunk Driving is major issue of our society.  In year 2013, 1,10,839 people was die & 3,45,000 were injured in road (by NHTSA).  One person died in every 53 minutes.  One in three people involved in alcohol related crashing.  It’s affected not only you but your loved one’s also.  Unawareness of the dangers of drunk driving in our society.
  4. Block Diagram:- ATmega32 L293D MOTOR PORT D BUZZER PORT C GSM PORT B ALCOHOL SENSOR PORT A Power supply LCD
  5. 1 •At mega 32 controller 2 •Alcohol sensor 3 •LCD 4 •L293D Motor 5 •Buzzer 6 •Gsm Hardware require:
  6. ATmega32:
  7. Features:  High-performance, Low-power.  A Nonvolatile Program and Data Memories.  Advance RISC Architecture .  Real Time Counter with Separate Oscillator.  Internal Calibrated RC Oscillator.  32 Programmable I/O Lines.  Power Consumption.  Four PWM Channels.
  8. Alcohol Sensor:
  9. Alcohol Sensor:  This alcohol sensor is suitable for detecting alcohol concentration on your breath, just like your common breath analyzer.  It has a high sensitivity and fast response time. Sensor provides an analog output based on alcohol concentration.  The sensor needs 5V power supply to operate. • High sensitivity to alcohol and small sensitivity to Benzene. • Fast response and High sensitivity. • Simple drive circuit of 5V DC with analog output. • Operation Temperature: -10 to 70 degrees C.
  10. LCD:  Liquid-crystal display televisions are television sets that use LCD display technology to produce image.  Liquid crystal displays consist of liquid crystals that are activated by electric current
  11. L293D Motor:
  12. BUZZER CIRCUIT •A buzzer or beeper is an audio signalling device. •Which may be mechanical, piezoelectric, or electromechanical. • Typical uses of buzzers include alarm devices, timers and confirmation of user input such as a mouse click or keystroke
  13. Gsm Module:
  14. HARDWARE:
  15. Pcb Designining

  17. drunk driving detection thus decrease accidents. Quick analysis to presence of alcohol . Small space covered in vehicle. More suitable to other technique. Control vehicle through Gsm. Less cost & Less maintenance. Protect the human & your loved one’s also. It is not police dependent system. Easy to install. Advantages:
  18. Disadvantages: Highly sensitive to the atmosphere. Carbon monoxide, cigarette smoke and many other environmental gases can effect the readings . Other products such as some mouthwash or breath spray can "fool" breath machines.
  19. Application: Alcohol Detector project” can be used in the various vehicles for detecting whether the driver has consumed alcohol or not.  This project can also be used in various companies or organization to detect alcohol consumption of employees. . This is used minimize the road accidents occurring due to drunk driving which cause the loss of invaluable human life. More than 7,000 road traffic deaths could be prevented every year if alcohol detection devices were used in all vehicles
  20. Software used: • PROGRAMMABLE NOTEPAD(p n) used for written the program. • PROTEUS 7.7 SP2: Used for simulation by loading the HEX file created in programmable notepad(p n). • Altium designer 10.0: it is used for pcb designing and schematic layout.
  21. Future Scope: We can implement GPS technology to find out the location of the vehicle. We can integrated identity verification system which is finger print based. We can also integrated webcam system for identification of the person.
  22. Work Plan: MONTH WORK DONE AUGUST Overview about the project with hardware & software specifications. SEPTEMBER Overview about the project with hardware & software specifications. OCTOBER Stimulation of different c programs in Proteus for led & switch NOVEMBER Stimulation of different c programs in Proteus for UART DECEMBER Basic PCB designing 8th SEMESTER Onboard hardware implementation & actual PCB designing
