The “worm”, Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans), is a
nematode commonly used for genetic research because
it is simple, has a short life-span (reproduces
quickly), and is easy to cultivate.
This nematode “worm” is about the
size of a comma in your textbook: 1 mm.
