My Smart Goal John Conroy
Smart Goal <ul><li>Main Goal: To start eating healthier foods in hopes to lose around 8 pounds. </li></ul><ul><li> </li></ul><ul><li>S (Specific): I want to start eating healthier becasue I tend to eat many food products that don't have good nutritional facts. I also hope that by eating healthy that I can loose some weight in the process. </li></ul><ul><li>M (Measureable): I can do this by keeping track of my intake of food by keeping a journal about it. I want to keep track of the calories and grams of fat I intake a day. </li></ul><ul><li>A (Attainable): Both me and my housemates have been trying to eat healthier. We go grocery shopping together now and look for foods that are healthy for us. This will help because we can all watch how we are eating. </li></ul><ul><li>R (Realistic): I have been starting to buy products that say light and that are fat free. I also want to try and buy products that are better for me such as switching from white bread to wheat bread. I feel as though if I also stop eating a lot in a short period of time and stretch my meals throughout the day it will benefit me. </li></ul><ul><li>T (Timely): I feel as though by the end of this semester if I start to eat healthier and switch to light and fat free products I can loose the weight I desire. </li></ul>
How Have I Been Doing? <ul><li>I am doing a decent job at starting to eat healthier. When I go out and buy groceries I tend to skip the aisles that have junk food in them and start to buy more wheat products, vegetables, and fruit. </li></ul><ul><li>I have started to notice a slight decrease in my waist because my pants are becoming a little big on me. I think this is a good sign and I so far I am pleased with the results. </li></ul><ul><li>I have only weighed myself once since the beginning of this but I plan on doing it again really soon when I go home for Thanksgiving. </li></ul>
Tracking My Success <ul><li>We do not have scale in the off-campus house that I have but when I go home for thanks giving I plan on weighing myself and seeing how much weight I have lost since I have started to eat healthier. </li></ul>
Challenges and Diet <ul><li>Since beginning the process of eating healthier it has been quite the struggle. I have been tempted pretty easily by foods that I should not be eating such as chips and cookies. I have done a pretty good job at staying away from foods like this but sometimes I catch myself snacking on them. </li></ul>My diet has been very good of late. I have been trying to eat a lot more vegetables and fruits in between meals instead of chips and junk food. I have also started to buy whole wheat products such as wheat bread and wheat pasta. I feel as though this has also helped me with my success so far.
