1. Orville working for Giff Gaff!
Do you remember Orville and Keith Harris? Chances are if you’re over 25 you may well do. They had a
hugely successfully TV show in the 80’s and 90’s featuring a ventriloquist and his talking green bird.
If you’re struggling to remember, the new advert from Giff Gaff may just jog your memory. Orville and
Harris have been selected to showcase Giff Gaff’s new sim only deals and they’ve done it in their own,
individual way!
The UK has experienced a huge surge in popularity of sim only deals in the past two to three years.
People across the UK have embraced sim only deals as an effective way of reducing their monthly
outgoings. Giff Gaff’s new sim only contract utalises the celebrity appeal of Orville and Harris to pass the
message of affordable sim only deals to the masses.
The advert features Orville and Harris singing in a music video called The Contract. In the video Keith
Harris can be seen wearing a hoodie top and a string vest. He then raps about the freedom and
affordability of sim only contracts. Orville then joins in for the chorus. Those who have always wanted to
see Keith busting some smooth moves should check out the video! It brings back memories of Orville
classic kids song “I wish I could fly, right up to the sky, but I can’t”
The video is intended to be a light hearted and fun way of promoting sim only deals; however it also has
a more serious side. Giff Gaff has promised to re-home an abused chicken for every sale it makes. With
each sale an abused chicken will be re-homed to a charitable organization who will nurse it back to
health. This is a great gesture from the telecoms giant that will secure a brighter future for chickens
across the UK.
