This document discusses REX-Ray, a tool for providing scale-out data persistence for stateful containers. REX-Ray is a Go binary that automatically recognizes underlying storage like Rackspace, EC2, XtremIO, and ScaleIO, and ties into Docker volume plugins to allow containers and their volumes to be moved between hosts and restarted on other hosts while maintaining access to the volume data. The document demonstrates how REX-Ray allows containers to be moved, restarted on other hosts, and keeps volumes accessible despite changes to container location.
