Descriptive Essay On A Walk In The Park
A Walk in the Park A ways away from a town that I call home, I found a happy place. I often find
myself walking through the park by myself. The beautiful trees, the way the yellow and red
leaves crumple under my feet every step I take. When the flowers bloom and how it's the most
spectacular sight you could ever imagine seeing, all the different colors that appear. When you
breathe in and you get this smell of purity, you feel free and alive. Sometimes I like to sit on the
old wooden bench where the bench frame is a little rusted, and I get rid of my thoughts and my eyes
search the sky. In the winter the icy breeze makes me shiver, and the cold air I take in, is like
sitting in front of an air conditioner and breathing in. Some mornings the sun beams across the sky,
which is not quite blue yet, but the sun has almost fully risen. When the wind blows, it grazes
over the blades of grass. Some days I just stand and take a deep breath in and I can taste the
spring. When summer comes around, and the bees are buzzing, and the hot sun beats on the back
of my neck, I lay on the soft grass and listen, to the birds chirping a beautiful song, and the kids
playing in the park. The sky is the bluest view in sight. Walking through the trail full of mud and
leaves always made me think about my life. It was always there when I needed to walk and get
things off my mind. Looking around watching the leaves fall off tree after tree flying like
butterflies, all different colors. When they stopped, they immediately died and they were not
coming back alive again. Piled leaves filled up under trees and children ran and jumped on them
like they were pillows. These trees tripled the height of humans with numerous branches holding
hundreds of leaves. While walking the river flows and it is such a beautiful view with the sun
shining right off of it. The ducks and little birds chirping and floating through the smooth water
puts a joy to my face. I found a rest area with a bench and by it was a fountain. The ripple of water
and the singing that the birds formed made it peaceful to sit there and study the fountain. Just
appreciating the little things in life and realizing what all I have and have overcome is what the
park helps me

Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful City
Imagine yourself coming to a city you have never been to for a vacation. You have just gotten a
leave from your job and you are expecting a relaxing vacation without any hassles. After a long
flight, you reach your final destination, Pearadex, California. You walk out of the airport into a
huge, beautiful city full of gigantic skyscrapers that is the home of the city's tech industry. As you
walk into the downtown area, you see a beautiful fountain with water gushing out in all directions
making its way through the city using a median of streams which resemble a microchip when
looked from above. Little kids are playing in the stream splashing around while the senior citizens sit
on pear–shaped benches watching the young children with glee. Hover cars make their way as
they gently glide on top of the river and the streets lining them and guide their passengers home
with the low sound of hover cars powered by compressed gases. Paddle boats and tour gondolas
glide across the water gently as their occupants heartily talk and laugh. Suddenly a bell rings out
of nowhere and you are alarmed as you do not know what is going on. You breathe a sigh of relief
as you see kids of all ages flock out of school in the thousands and hear their screams of joy as you
walk past. They all dash to Crystal Lake to escape the heat. The clear water with a hint of blue is
full of ripples going off in all directions from the boats and canoes. The familiar smell of freshly
cut grass from the field in Birchland Park enters your nose. You are home! You finally attain your
peace and quietness. The neighborhood is very quiet allowing you to take a peaceful nap and
dream about the wonderful sights you will see and the things you will do in this wonderful city
tomorrow. Pearadex city has surpassed all levels expected from the public and is the future
generation of cities. It is located in Northern California, United States of America, and has had
quite a big history considering that it was founded on June 19, 1984. Even though this city looks
and seems like it has had a steady and easy going past it has had its fair share of problems. But
learning from our mistakes, we have made our city the magnificent city it is today. First of all, tours

Descriptive Essay About A Happy Place In The Sea
I take a deep breath, my nostrils are filled with the pleasant aroma of the salty sea air. This is my
happy place, this is where I belong. As I sit with my freshly painted pink toes in the sand, I am
overwhelmed with all that is happening around me. To my right, there is a family of four; a mother,
father, and two little red headed girls that look like twins, laughing and jumping around, taking in the
big world around them. The children are in their bright red and purple flowered bathing suits,
running and screaming, attempting to get their toes wet in the chilly water that churns back and
forth on the shore. After a few attempts they decide to run and jump full force into the crystal clear
abyss, unaware of what creatures they could find if they dive deep enough.
To the left of me, I see an older couple, books in hand, enjoying the relaxing evening under their
bright, multicolor striped beach umbrella and green folding chairs that have palm trees sewn on the
back. The man leans over and soon enough the lady begins to laugh at what he has said. Further
down I can see a boy in blue and white striped swim trunks and his dog playing fetch near the
shore. The dog is brown with a mix of white around his back. Each time the boy throws the bouncy
blue ball, the dog is more and more eager to retrieve it for his owner. After a few throws, the next
one goes farther than the others, causing the dog to dive into the water. He seems to enjoy the way
the cool water feels on his fur

Essay on Places I Have Lived
I have opinions of all the places I have lived. Each place has its advantages and disadvantages, and I
am not sure if there is any place that really fits me well. In this essay, I will examine the bad and
good aspects of some of the places I have lived. Then, I will compare what I consider to be "ideal"
conditions with the good aspects of those places where I have lived. Lastly, I will choose the place
that I think is best for me.
I was born in Gujarat , India , and I lived there for 9 years then I moved to America . I consider it
to be my hometown. I have some bad memories from there. I don?t like the people and places,
especially some of its unique characteristics, like the night market from Gujarat . The pattern of the

But, it was very hot in summer and freezing cold in spring. My town had so many good restaurants
and shopping mall. Well, it?s up to north of Alabama so it doesn?t have beach, however, it has
rivers down there. On the Good side, this town was wide open. There was lots of space and the
natural scenery was just beautiful. Because it was not so crowded, and traffic was not a problem,
there was not much pollution either. I like this because it was easier to keep healthy.
Finally, I moved to Ventura because my family said so. They didn?t want me to do a party and all
so they moved back me to Ventura . The entire place I have lived, I think I like it here the best. It is
nice here for several reasons. Because the population is not too high, there are lots of place to visit,
lots of job opportunities and less crowded transportation facilities. I am not sure of all the reasons,
but I think life here is just much more exciting.
I have some problem here because my family is here so I can?t go for parties and go home late
night. However I do parties because sometime I get lonely. After living in these entire places, I
think I can honestly say which characteristics are most important to me, and which ones are not so
important. I have though about this very much, and now I feel like I can rank these things in order
from first to last. First of all I like to live in less populated and clean town.

Learning To Swim Analysis
The sound of sirens mixed with flashing lights and gusting winds beating from the long helicopter
blades greets you as you make your way from the stone wall to the front teal blue door that awaits
you. A two story yellow tinted house that has been created into our own home over the past fifteen
years, will soon be left sitting along the side of the ally on the right and the storage units to its left.
In three short years learning to swim in the clear blue water that sits behind the house on Massie
Street, playing Christmas games with family, and watching helicopters land will all become a part
of the house that built me. Inside the cream colored fence is a world of happiness. As a six year
old little girl with wild crazy blonde hair and bright green eyes I would make my way into the
water with no idea how to swim. As my sister would already be in the clear blue water splashing
and pretending to be a mermaid would soon stop what she is doing to give swimming lessons to
her little sister. We would start at one end of the shallow water and start by kicking our feet and
moving our arms out then to the side, as if we were making our way through a field of flowers
and pushing them out of the way to make a path for our small feet. After going out every morning
I would inch my way to the eight foot deep side of the pool just to practice. Years later, family
members as well as friends would come inside the gate to happiness to swim and cookout. I, now
fifteen would pass along my

Washington. A place that I've been lucky to call home all my life. A place with an average
population of 7.288 million people. If you were to ask me what my favorite part of my home state
is my first answer would be Seattle. Seattle is full of buildings tall like mountains, full of people so
diverse, with adventure waiting at every corner. It rains in Washington just about as often as the
average person showers in a week. I've noticed ranges from light little showers that feels almost
like a snowfall to heavy showers with rain falling at remarkable speeds. Even with the rain the
weather in Washington I say is pretty great. I often find myself find myself longing for a moment
of clear skies so that I can enjoy the view of the oh so present Mt. Rainer. A mountain with snow
fall that looks as soft and white as fox's fur. Washington state is full of marvelous wonders waiting to
be explored. Seattle, the largest city in Washington, has a population of over 700,000. Each day
you'll see hundreds of people walking its streets looking up at its glory. From the Space Needle to
the Columbia Center many buildings are within Seattle's skyline. The Puget Sound homes it's
very own Alki Beach. The best feeling is when I get to take off my shoes and feel all the little
pebbles between my toes and the soft feeling of waves brushing my feet. If I'm ever down in
Seattle I always try to venture down to Pike Place. At night it's just marvelous, lit up with red
light from the "Public Market Center" sign located up top on a building. Little shops aligned one by
one selling a whole range of items such as fish and other foods, paintings, accessories', clothing, and
so much more. I always find myself leaving with a bouget of flowers of all different colors and
types. Over the years I've noticed Seattle is always at its busiest when one its sports team is playing.
Cars are filled back to back with people coming from all over to see them play. I'll see buses
unloading and loading loads of people at every stop all dressed in green and/or blue. It's not a
wonder as to why Seattle is always busy with new sites waiting for anyone to come visit, life is an
adventure after all. After living in Washington for 16 years I can definitely

Descriptive Essay About My Dream Place
Standing in awe, I review the instructions on the paper ticket I hold in my hand: "1: Close your
eyes. 2: Picture your dream place to visit. 3: Insert this ticket into the ticket feeder." Following the
instructions, my eyes close as I take a deep breath. What the one place I dream greatest about? I
could travel anywhere; there are so numerous places I had dreamed of visiting. Shifting through my
thoughts, I accordingly choose somewhere I have imagined for the longest time. I heavily exhale,
opening my eyes as my ticket gets pulled into the feeder.
Impatience and excitement are overcoming in the silence as I wait. Suddenly a door appears and
swings open. As I step through the doorway into a blinding light, I almost lose my breath. A
peaceful scenery of valleys and flowers appears. Walking down a rubble path in awe of the
beautiful creations, everything prevails more breathtaking than I ever imagined. A path leads into
an alluring forest as trees cascade over like a giant archway. A stream runs along the left side of the
path and animals are not as frightful here as what I had known them to be before.
As I reach the end of the forest trail, laughter and music becomes louder; it is a town. Filled with
hope, I begin thinking maybe I will see people I once knew. Skipping down the trail a little faster, I
approach a heavy wall that separates the forest and the town. Only a few people notice a new
presence at first as I pull a gate open and step through. Giggles burst from a

Personal Narrative Essay About A Place
After we landed we went to our host home to get freshen up because we were going out for pizza.
I thought okay this will be good, I will be able to see the city a little bit and eat something I am
familiar with. So, we get to Andy's pizza and I had to use the restroom really bad. I headed to the
bathroom and go in to the stall, the next thing I know there is a male in the bathroom with me! I
went out to the table and said "Oh my goodness! Why didn't any one warn me about the bathroom
situation!?" Sergiu, one of our host, said "What about the bathroom? It is completely normal for a
guy and a girl to be in the bathroom together."
There was a feast for breakfast every morning. I was so grateful for the abundance amount of food
because in Moldova they don't have a crazy amount of money. I knew we were greatly
appreciated for our hard work by the twenty fried eggs, full plate of bacon, full plate of pancakes,
full plate of toast, two different kinds of juice, and most importantly the full pot of coffee. All we
could say to the precious Russian cook was "spasibo", which means thank you. Wine and alcoholic

My Room : My Favorite Place In The World
My room is one of my favorite places on earth because it is a safe haven for me. It is where I can be
myself, have privacy, and somewhere quiet to think. The bed I have is a twin bed with a blanket as
soft as clouds. My pillow is a squishy white marshmallow where my delicate head can rest in peace
and dream. The bed is like my friend; it is always there to comfort me after having a tiring and harsh
day. It helps me forget all the problems that I face. I can just sleep for days without a worry in a
world; it would be as peaceful as paradise. It is also where I can lie down and think. Sometimes, I
like to take a walk inside the vast library of memories that I have made over the past days and years.
I do a self–reflection on how I could improve myself as a person. I also review my errors, so I can
learn from my mistakes. The room is filled with the pleasant smell of red honeysuckle flower. I
can almost imagine being in the Botanical Gardens, where I can meditate. I am also able to
express myself in any matter I desire as well because no one will judge me on how I act. I get to be
myself without worrying. In addition, my room is my favorite place in the world because it
explains who I am. For instance, my room is painted a royal blue color which is my favorite color. In
English, we were doing a psychology exercise and were asked to describe our favorite color with
adjectives. For the color blue I wrote calm, cool, and unique. The adjectives we choose describe how

Essay on scary places
Over the course of my life, I have encountered many eerie locations that have given me the chills.
Despite all those fearful situations, only three places have ever successfully handicapped my
lungs from providing oxygen to my heart. I could not begin to predict the events that would occur
when I decided to visit a jail hostel, a cemetery, or a cellar. Until these visits, I have never been
frozen from head to toe, unable to conduct a move. My previous hair raising experiences are
practically nonexistent compared to my journey to The Ottawa Jail Hostel, the Garden Cemetery, or

My curiosity leads me closer and I soon find myself inside the hostel. Once inside, the scene of a
hotel lobby jumps into view, although everything is beaten down as if a pack of wolves ran
through. To my left, a few broken remains of the front desk lay scattered on the floor. Now, this
decrepit structure sits upside down in the corner of the room. I slowly creep into the next room
which leads to a stairway. Immediately, I want to explore the upper level. Suddenly, I see a
strange shadow appearing from the corner of my eye. A loud crash leads me to believe the figure is
in the lobby. Goosebumps appear on my neck and arms as a harsh wind blows through an open
window. I scream as I run back out of the building. Panting and confused, I try to retrieve myself
from a frightened state and gain control of my body once again. Therefore, the first frightening
experience I have ever encountered happened at the Ottawa Jail Hostel. The second stop on my
haunted journey, is to Garden Cemetery. To reach the cemetery, I start to walk through a spooky
forest. This forest contains vast wisps of dead grass, fragile to a single touch. Occasional gusts of
wind forces these stands of death to dance and rustle against each other. Tall trees lean in all
different directions, with leaves no longer clinging to their branches. These dormant structures lurch
over my body, trying to hold me captive in their distorted arms. As a result, I quicken my pace and

Descriptive Essay On A Living Place
Growing up I was always on the internet and looking through magazines dreaming of having this
amazing bedroom for myself. Now as I'm entering college and buying everything for my dorm
room, having to be very particular about what I was buying since space in so limited in average
residence halls. Everything has to be compact, compact refrigerators, compact microwaves, you
have to cut back on the amount of clothes and shoes you bring with you, which for a girl is a
difficult task. Some students not only have to adjust to living on their own and going to school, but
also a lot of dorm rooms are two people bedrooms so some have to adjust to living in close quarters
with another human. So as the stress of dorm shopping started so did my dreams of a bigger and
better dorm.
If I was designing and building my own dorm building I would make each dorm a suite with four
bedrooms, one student per bedroom. Each student also gets their own bathroom. The suites
would also have a living room for everyone to share and a full size kitchen. There would also be a
small laundry room with a washer, dryer and an iron for the suite mates to share. Each building
will have an indoor pool and a small weight room for exercise to help fight off the freshmen fifteen.
The suites would be comprised of four students of the same gender with like interests and
compatible personalities. Once a week, there would be a housekeeper that comes and cleans the

Descriptive Essay On A Place In The Woods
For many people they have that one place they can go and just relax. For me it's some place in the
woods with a stream or creek. So, when I found this spot while walking around I knew this was
the spot I wanted to capture. This piece spoke to me for multiple reasons because I found it in an
area that resembles where I grew up and I took a lot of comfort in that fact. I now have somewhere
to go and get away when I need to be alone or if I need to think about things because of this
scavenger hunt. Just by looking at this picture it brings me a feeling of peace and comfort. The
first reason this picture practically shouted at me was because this reminds me of a spot at home
that I would visit frequently. I live four hours away in the country and more specifically on the side
off a mountain. Along with that I live in a house with six brothers and a little sister. This said, I am
completely surrounded by woods, not many other attractions, and only my family to drive me
insane. So, In the valley by my house we have a creek that runs through the woods and that was
where I would go for everything. If I was mad and needed time to cool off, if I wanted scenery
that I could draw, workouts, and almost anything else you could think of. So, when I found this spot
a rush of emotions ran through me because it reminded me of this. This spot has now become my
new thinking spot. I love walking out to it and just sitting along the side to think and I even come

Descriptive Essay About My City
Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town,
whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our
local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often
take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We
often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights
that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my
town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park.
Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining
restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the
needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and
widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of
Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to
complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small
bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a
biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings
consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow

My neighborhood is unlike any other neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. I truly feel like I am

Courage has been beneficial because, I am not shy or afraid to meet new people and socialize. I
gained confidence within myself because I do not feel awkward in social situations. Furthermore,
my neighborhood has shaped me into a charismatic person; it is helpful when encountering social
relationships outside of my surroundings.
Aside from the personal lessons, I have been influenced to be festive. During most celebrated
holiday such as: Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas, my neighborhood embraces their
excitement with beautiful decorations. According to the article Social Cohesiveness, Territoriality,
and Holiday Decorations by Barbara Brown and Carol Werner, observations on holiday decorations
were done on a whole block during Halloween and Christmas; the analyses indicated that attitudes
and behaviors combined to reflect degrees of neighborhood attachment, and neighborhood ties were
stronger. In a sense, it makes me believe my neighbors unite to beautify our neighborhood streets
while sharing common traditions, such as a Christmas tree or the birth of Jesus arrangement.
Holidays are my favorite time of the year, because I love to see the streets of my home filled with
jolly spirit. Around Christmas, I drive block by block to admire the lovely decorations. The sound
of celebration and the smell of festive meals fill the atmosphere. Supermarkets are crowed than ever,
parking lots, and traffic is so congested, but I feel satisfied seeing my neighborhood

Descriptive Essay On My Comfort Place
Traveling anywhere can be a hectic experience. Thinking about all of the planning and the actual
flying can make what's supposed to a relaxing trip stressful. However, traveling somewhere where
you don't know anyone with you or the language where you're going make can amplify the stress.
Going to Bali with my CCS group was something I never thought I would be able to do. The
majority of the trips I've been on I've typically gone alone due to my anxiety disorder, so going
somewhere with complete strangers was already out of my comfort zone. However, I've always
wanted to experience other cultures and travel to exotic locations, and I knew to do that knew I had
to step out of my comfort zone and select a trip where I knew nothing about. It turns out selecting
Bali for my CCE was the right choice. This trip allowed us to completely immerse into the culture
for two weeks, and allowed us to take time to learn it alongside each other. In those two weeks, I
learned that Balinese culture is a culture very different from our own, and experiencing it was an
enormous culture shock. The first notable difference was the food that was served. They didn't
have access to many of the foods that we typically would've eaten back home, or there were foods
we ate back home that they simply chose not to eat. For example, beef is a large portion of the
American diet, but due to the Balinese being Hindu they choose not to consume it and instead they'll
typically eat chicken or fish. However

A Perfect Place?
Crouched beside my father's hospital bed, I prayed for him to stay alive as he ran his trembling
fingers through my soft brown curls for the last time. He focused on my big green eyes as they
overflowed with salty tears and whispered: "Sabrina Jane, in no circumstance you will give up
hope." Every night I lay in bed, weary of what tomorrow will bring to me and my family without
my valiant father for support and protection from the oppressive world we are required to live. I
am proceeding to follow in his footsteps to turn this 'utopian world' into a free space where
people do not have to be watched, but first I need to get past the government. The government has
everyone is fenced in with guards observing their every move, advised that there is a horrid place
outside this world and to never leave since there will always be consequences for everything.
Except there are always people trying to escape the interior facade of distraught, we hear that they

the dangers from disobeying the Mayor's laws. I hope to be the first one to withdraw the way of
living I was raised to obey. When you walk into my bedroom there are stacks of thick, rough and
smooth yellow paper, on all of the paper I have plans for my escape, using town sketches and
machines for me to construct in order to depart from 'the perfect place'. My mother, who has blonde

start new memories with them. Now you're probably wondering what this very spot5 is well, I am
going to share it with you based on the spectacular memories I have created here. Its filled with
wonderful sounds at every half hour. These sounds are like the wonderful noises that birds make to
one another. Not only is the music so peaceful, but the way that it repeats its same beat just puts a
smile on my face. The beat of the music may be songful to the ear but a reason as to why I chose
this was because it lets me know what time it is in the day. It is also a reminder to me that I should
be somewhere in a couple minutes. The reminder is a special aspect of why I wanted to share this
place with you because it can help you be productive in your everyday life. For example, this helps
me know that as the wonderful beat plays it is quarter to the hour and that I have to be somewhere in
less than twenty

Description of My Room Essay
The place where I feel the most comfortable, and show my personality, is my bedroom. This is the
place where I can really be myself and do what I want; it's the place I come home to, and wake up
every day. My room makes me feel comfortable because it is my own space. My house is always
crazy, with my dog barking, and my siblings running around making noise, my room is the only
place in the house where I can come and relax without caring about everything else, the only place
that I can go to clear my mind.
My room has many characteristics of which I share; it has many pictures that I have taken, about
my friends or other interesting things that I have found. It is the only place that I can make my own,
I can be creative and decorate...show more content...
Another reason that my room makes me feel comfortable is that I love to dance, but I am
embarrassed to do it in front of other people, so whenever I am in my room I can turn the radio
and put on some of my favorite music and dance my best. My room gives me the confidence that I
don't have in other places, it helps me to have trust in myself, I can do the most ridiculous thing
but my room won't say anything, it will never judge me. My room is the only place where I will
try new things and if I feel confident I will try them outside of it. I will give it my best and that is
how my room helps me, by doing something there first I believe more in myself.
It is the place where I can concentrate and think about everything that is going on around me, not
only around my city or state, but all over the world. I get the chance to relax and think in what I
want to do with my life, the kind of future I want to achieve. My room is the place where I can go
and do my homework without getting distracted, where I can write down my feelings and open
my mind to new ideas. Many times I have gone to my room and just write about things that are
going around in the world that will affect me sooner or later, like global warming. I will think about
everything I have heard, and my room makes me feel comfortable like there is nothing that can stop
me from making a comment and saying what is on my mind.
The way I act in my bedroom, and the way I act outside are

Descriptive Essay About A Sacred Place
It goes without saying that everyone on earth has at least one sanctuary. For some, this place is
high up in the branches of a tree, where they can touch the sky with outstretched fingertips and
feign a lack of attachment to the busy world lying below. For others, this sacred place might be
found in a place as close and accessible as a cubbyhole in their own home. For others still, it
might be in a library, or on a quiet mountaintop, the hard pews of a church building, or even a
person. I myself have found my haven to be far away and, for now, out of my reach, in a city
called Wilmington in North Carolina. It is the seventh or eighth largest city in the state, but the
downtown area isn't too busy to relax and breathe in the fresh air drifting from the beach only a few
miles away. It is peaceful and serene, but still bustling with just the right amount of life and activity
to be always uplifting, and flawless in its own way.
My family used to visit there once a year for about a week in the summer. We would go camping
and spend the majority of our time frequenting the beach. Back then I was tiny, but even now I
know I would be overwhelmed by the vast space of the sky opened up over me, blue and deep in a
reflection of the water below it. I would try with all my might to run through the grainy, hot sand
scraping away at the bottoms of my burning feet onto cooler ground, where cool ocean water
counteracted the sun's hot touch. Even as a little girl, the beach wasn't just a place

Sample Descriptive Essay About A Place

  • 1. Descriptive Essay On A Walk In The Park A Walk in the Park A ways away from a town that I call home, I found a happy place. I often find myself walking through the park by myself. The beautiful trees, the way the yellow and red leaves crumple under my feet every step I take. When the flowers bloom and how it's the most spectacular sight you could ever imagine seeing, all the different colors that appear. When you breathe in and you get this smell of purity, you feel free and alive. Sometimes I like to sit on the old wooden bench where the bench frame is a little rusted, and I get rid of my thoughts and my eyes search the sky. In the winter the icy breeze makes me shiver, and the cold air I take in, is like sitting in front of an air conditioner and breathing in. Some mornings the sun beams across the sky, which is not quite blue yet, but the sun has almost fully risen. When the wind blows, it grazes over the blades of grass. Some days I just stand and take a deep breath in and I can taste the spring. When summer comes around, and the bees are buzzing, and the hot sun beats on the back of my neck, I lay on the soft grass and listen, to the birds chirping a beautiful song, and the kids playing in the park. The sky is the bluest view in sight. Walking through the trail full of mud and leaves always made me think about my life. It was always there when I needed to walk and get things off my mind. Looking around watching the leaves fall off tree after tree flying like butterflies, all different colors. When they stopped, they immediately died and they were not coming back alive again. Piled leaves filled up under trees and children ran and jumped on them like they were pillows. These trees tripled the height of humans with numerous branches holding hundreds of leaves. While walking the river flows and it is such a beautiful view with the sun shining right off of it. The ducks and little birds chirping and floating through the smooth water puts a joy to my face. I found a rest area with a bench and by it was a fountain. The ripple of water and the singing that the birds formed made it peaceful to sit there and study the fountain. Just appreciating the little things in life and realizing what all I have and have overcome is what the park helps me Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful City Imagine yourself coming to a city you have never been to for a vacation. You have just gotten a leave from your job and you are expecting a relaxing vacation without any hassles. After a long flight, you reach your final destination, Pearadex, California. You walk out of the airport into a huge, beautiful city full of gigantic skyscrapers that is the home of the city's tech industry. As you walk into the downtown area, you see a beautiful fountain with water gushing out in all directions making its way through the city using a median of streams which resemble a microchip when looked from above. Little kids are playing in the stream splashing around while the senior citizens sit on pear–shaped benches watching the young children with glee. Hover cars make their way as they gently glide on top of the river and the streets lining them and guide their passengers home with the low sound of hover cars powered by compressed gases. Paddle boats and tour gondolas glide across the water gently as their occupants heartily talk and laugh. Suddenly a bell rings out of nowhere and you are alarmed as you do not know what is going on. You breathe a sigh of relief as you see kids of all ages flock out of school in the thousands and hear their screams of joy as you walk past. They all dash to Crystal Lake to escape the heat. The clear water with a hint of blue is full of ripples going off in all directions from the boats and canoes. The familiar smell of freshly cut grass from the field in Birchland Park enters your nose. You are home! You finally attain your peace and quietness. The neighborhood is very quiet allowing you to take a peaceful nap and dream about the wonderful sights you will see and the things you will do in this wonderful city tomorrow. Pearadex city has surpassed all levels expected from the public and is the future generation of cities. It is located in Northern California, United States of America, and has had quite a big history considering that it was founded on June 19, 1984. Even though this city looks and seems like it has had a steady and easy going past it has had its fair share of problems. But learning from our mistakes, we have made our city the magnificent city it is today. First of all, tours Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Descriptive Essay About A Happy Place In The Sea I take a deep breath, my nostrils are filled with the pleasant aroma of the salty sea air. This is my happy place, this is where I belong. As I sit with my freshly painted pink toes in the sand, I am overwhelmed with all that is happening around me. To my right, there is a family of four; a mother, father, and two little red headed girls that look like twins, laughing and jumping around, taking in the big world around them. The children are in their bright red and purple flowered bathing suits, running and screaming, attempting to get their toes wet in the chilly water that churns back and forth on the shore. After a few attempts they decide to run and jump full force into the crystal clear abyss, unaware of what creatures they could find if they dive deep enough. To the left of me, I see an older couple, books in hand, enjoying the relaxing evening under their bright, multicolor striped beach umbrella and green folding chairs that have palm trees sewn on the back. The man leans over and soon enough the lady begins to laugh at what he has said. Further down I can see a boy in blue and white striped swim trunks and his dog playing fetch near the shore. The dog is brown with a mix of white around his back. Each time the boy throws the bouncy blue ball, the dog is more and more eager to retrieve it for his owner. After a few throws, the next one goes farther than the others, causing the dog to dive into the water. He seems to enjoy the way the cool water feels on his fur Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay on Places I Have Lived I have opinions of all the places I have lived. Each place has its advantages and disadvantages, and I am not sure if there is any place that really fits me well. In this essay, I will examine the bad and good aspects of some of the places I have lived. Then, I will compare what I consider to be "ideal" conditions with the good aspects of those places where I have lived. Lastly, I will choose the place that I think is best for me. I was born in Gujarat , India , and I lived there for 9 years then I moved to America . I consider it to be my hometown. I have some bad memories from there. I don?t like the people and places, especially some of its unique characteristics, like the night market from Gujarat . The pattern of the ...show more content... But, it was very hot in summer and freezing cold in spring. My town had so many good restaurants and shopping mall. Well, it?s up to north of Alabama so it doesn?t have beach, however, it has rivers down there. On the Good side, this town was wide open. There was lots of space and the natural scenery was just beautiful. Because it was not so crowded, and traffic was not a problem, there was not much pollution either. I like this because it was easier to keep healthy. Finally, I moved to Ventura because my family said so. They didn?t want me to do a party and all so they moved back me to Ventura . The entire place I have lived, I think I like it here the best. It is nice here for several reasons. Because the population is not too high, there are lots of place to visit, lots of job opportunities and less crowded transportation facilities. I am not sure of all the reasons, but I think life here is just much more exciting. I have some problem here because my family is here so I can?t go for parties and go home late night. However I do parties because sometime I get lonely. After living in these entire places, I think I can honestly say which characteristics are most important to me, and which ones are not so important. I have though about this very much, and now I feel like I can rank these things in order from first to last. First of all I like to live in less populated and clean town. • 5. Learning To Swim Analysis The sound of sirens mixed with flashing lights and gusting winds beating from the long helicopter blades greets you as you make your way from the stone wall to the front teal blue door that awaits you. A two story yellow tinted house that has been created into our own home over the past fifteen years, will soon be left sitting along the side of the ally on the right and the storage units to its left. In three short years learning to swim in the clear blue water that sits behind the house on Massie Street, playing Christmas games with family, and watching helicopters land will all become a part of the house that built me. Inside the cream colored fence is a world of happiness. As a six year old little girl with wild crazy blonde hair and bright green eyes I would make my way into the water with no idea how to swim. As my sister would already be in the clear blue water splashing and pretending to be a mermaid would soon stop what she is doing to give swimming lessons to her little sister. We would start at one end of the shallow water and start by kicking our feet and moving our arms out then to the side, as if we were making our way through a field of flowers and pushing them out of the way to make a path for our small feet. After going out every morning I would inch my way to the eight foot deep side of the pool just to practice. Years later, family members as well as friends would come inside the gate to happiness to swim and cookout. I, now fifteen would pass along my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Descriptive Essay About My Favorite City Washington. A place that I've been lucky to call home all my life. A place with an average population of 7.288 million people. If you were to ask me what my favorite part of my home state is my first answer would be Seattle. Seattle is full of buildings tall like mountains, full of people so diverse, with adventure waiting at every corner. It rains in Washington just about as often as the average person showers in a week. I've noticed ranges from light little showers that feels almost like a snowfall to heavy showers with rain falling at remarkable speeds. Even with the rain the weather in Washington I say is pretty great. I often find myself find myself longing for a moment of clear skies so that I can enjoy the view of the oh so present Mt. Rainer. A mountain with snow fall that looks as soft and white as fox's fur. Washington state is full of marvelous wonders waiting to be explored. Seattle, the largest city in Washington, has a population of over 700,000. Each day you'll see hundreds of people walking its streets looking up at its glory. From the Space Needle to the Columbia Center many buildings are within Seattle's skyline. The Puget Sound homes it's very own Alki Beach. The best feeling is when I get to take off my shoes and feel all the little pebbles between my toes and the soft feeling of waves brushing my feet. If I'm ever down in Seattle I always try to venture down to Pike Place. At night it's just marvelous, lit up with red light from the "Public Market Center" sign located up top on a building. Little shops aligned one by one selling a whole range of items such as fish and other foods, paintings, accessories', clothing, and so much more. I always find myself leaving with a bouget of flowers of all different colors and types. Over the years I've noticed Seattle is always at its busiest when one its sports team is playing. Cars are filled back to back with people coming from all over to see them play. I'll see buses unloading and loading loads of people at every stop all dressed in green and/or blue. It's not a wonder as to why Seattle is always busy with new sites waiting for anyone to come visit, life is an adventure after all. After living in Washington for 16 years I can definitely Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Descriptive Essay About My Dream Place Standing in awe, I review the instructions on the paper ticket I hold in my hand: "1: Close your eyes. 2: Picture your dream place to visit. 3: Insert this ticket into the ticket feeder." Following the instructions, my eyes close as I take a deep breath. What the one place I dream greatest about? I could travel anywhere; there are so numerous places I had dreamed of visiting. Shifting through my thoughts, I accordingly choose somewhere I have imagined for the longest time. I heavily exhale, opening my eyes as my ticket gets pulled into the feeder. Impatience and excitement are overcoming in the silence as I wait. Suddenly a door appears and swings open. As I step through the doorway into a blinding light, I almost lose my breath. A peaceful scenery of valleys and flowers appears. Walking down a rubble path in awe of the beautiful creations, everything prevails more breathtaking than I ever imagined. A path leads into an alluring forest as trees cascade over like a giant archway. A stream runs along the left side of the path and animals are not as frightful here as what I had known them to be before. As I reach the end of the forest trail, laughter and music becomes louder; it is a town. Filled with hope, I begin thinking maybe I will see people I once knew. Skipping down the trail a little faster, I approach a heavy wall that separates the forest and the town. Only a few people notice a new presence at first as I pull a gate open and step through. I headed to the bathroom and go in to the stall, the next thing I know there is a male in the bathroom with me! I went out to the table and said "Oh my goodness! Why didn't any one warn me about the bathroom situation!?" Sergiu, one of our host, said "What about the bathroom? It is completely normal for a guy and a girl to be in the bathroom together." There was a feast for breakfast every morning. I was so grateful for the abundance amount of food because in Moldova they don't have a crazy amount of money. I knew we were greatly appreciated for our hard work by the twenty fried eggs, full plate of bacon, full plate of pancakes, full plate of toast, two different kinds of juice, and most importantly the full pot of coffee. • 10. Hence I gave up on myself, and abandoned any hope of ever making friends. Just became shut–in otaku. Playing games and watching anime. I even behaved like a delinquent. I became what people thought, I was. Than mom came back in an urgent business trip near hometown. She was disheartened to see my condition. After meeting mom, I suddenly cried and told her everything, like a baby. Complained and complained about everything and everyone, how they treated me. I almost blamed her for giving her looks. I don't know what I was saying, I know it's not her fault, if I had her looks. But I wanted to relieve my anger, so I chose her. I cursed her and even my grandparents. I told she looks like demon and because of that I was born as demon. I was pissed and my mouth went out of control. I told her that because of her scary face, even daddy left her and she deserved it. When she heard this she held me by the shoulders. I got scared and closed my eyes shut, thinking I would be slapped. I restrained my left cheek muscles ready to take the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Room : My Favorite Place In The World My room is one of my favorite places on earth because it is a safe haven for me. It is where I can be myself, have privacy, and somewhere quiet to think. The bed I have is a twin bed with a blanket as soft as clouds. My pillow is a squishy white marshmallow where my delicate head can rest in peace and dream. The bed is like my friend; it is always there to comfort me after having a tiring and harsh day. It helps me forget all the problems that I face. I can just sleep for days without a worry in a world; it would be as peaceful as paradise. It is also where I can lie down and think. Sometimes, I like to take a walk inside the vast library of memories that I have made over the past days and years. I do a self–reflection on how I could improve myself as a person. I also review my errors, so I can learn from my mistakes. The room is filled with the pleasant smell of red honeysuckle flower. I can almost imagine being in the Botanical Gardens, where I can meditate. I am also able to express myself in any matter I desire as well because no one will judge me on how I act. I get to be myself without worrying. In addition, my room is my favorite place in the world because it explains who I am. For instance, my room is painted a royal blue color which is my favorite color. In English, we were doing a psychology exercise and were asked to describe our favorite color with adjectives. For the color blue I wrote calm, cool, and unique. The adjectives we choose describe how we view Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Essay on scary places Over the course of my life, I have encountered many eerie locations that have given me the chills. Despite all those fearful situations, only three places have ever successfully handicapped my lungs from providing oxygen to my heart. I could not begin to predict the events that would occur when I decided to visit a jail hostel, a cemetery, or a cellar. Until these visits, I have never been frozen from head to toe, unable to conduct a move. My previous hair raising experiences are practically nonexistent compared to my journey to The Ottawa Jail Hostel, the Garden Cemetery, or a friend's basement cellar. To begin, the first place that is soon going to put goose bumps on my skin is the Ottawa Jail Hostel. In order to reach the hostel I...show more content... My curiosity leads me closer and I soon find myself inside the hostel. Once inside, the scene of a hotel lobby jumps into view, although everything is beaten down as if a pack of wolves ran through. To my left, a few broken remains of the front desk lay scattered on the floor. Now, this decrepit structure sits upside down in the corner of the room. I slowly creep into the next room which leads to a stairway. Immediately, I want to explore the upper level. Suddenly, I see a strange shadow appearing from the corner of my eye. A loud crash leads me to believe the figure is in the lobby. Goosebumps appear on my neck and arms as a harsh wind blows through an open window. I scream as I run back out of the building. Panting and confused, I try to retrieve myself from a frightened state and gain control of my body once again. Therefore, the first frightening experience I have ever encountered happened at the Ottawa Jail Hostel. The second stop on my haunted journey, is to Garden Cemetery. To reach the cemetery, I start to walk through a spooky forest. This forest contains vast wisps of dead grass, fragile to a single touch. Occasional gusts of wind forces these stands of death to dance and rustle against each other. Tall trees lean in all different directions, with leaves no longer clinging to their branches. These dormant structures lurch over my body, trying to hold me captive in their distorted arms. As a result, I quicken my pace and my breath Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 14. Descriptive Essay On A Living Place Growing up I was always on the internet and looking through magazines dreaming of having this amazing bedroom for myself. Now as I'm entering college and buying everything for my dorm room, having to be very particular about what I was buying since space in so limited in average residence halls. Everything has to be compact, compact refrigerators, compact microwaves, you have to cut back on the amount of clothes and shoes you bring with you, which for a girl is a difficult task. Some students not only have to adjust to living on their own and going to school, but also a lot of dorm rooms are two people bedrooms so some have to adjust to living in close quarters with another human. So as the stress of dorm shopping started so did my dreams of a bigger and better dorm. If I was designing and building my own dorm building I would make each dorm a suite with four bedrooms, one student per bedroom. Each student also gets their own bathroom. The suites would also have a living room for everyone to share and a full size kitchen. There would also be a small laundry room with a washer, dryer and an iron for the suite mates to share. Each building will have an indoor pool and a small weight room for exercise to help fight off the freshmen fifteen. The suites would be comprised of four students of the same gender with like interests and compatible personalities. Once a week, there would be a housekeeper that comes and cleans the entire suite, top to bottom, and go grocery shopping for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Descriptive Essay On A Place In The Woods For many people they have that one place they can go and just relax. For me it's some place in the woods with a stream or creek. So, when I found this spot while walking around I knew this was the spot I wanted to capture. This piece spoke to me for multiple reasons because I found it in an area that resembles where I grew up and I took a lot of comfort in that fact. I now have somewhere to go and get away when I need to be alone or if I need to think about things because of this scavenger hunt. Just by looking at this picture it brings me a feeling of peace and comfort. The first reason this picture practically shouted at me was because this reminds me of a spot at home that I would visit frequently. This said, I am completely surrounded by woods, not many other attractions, and only my family to drive me insane. • 16. Descriptive Essay About My City Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town, whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park. Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Being in a different neighborhood when visiting my friend's home or a family member's, causes a disconnect within myself. I do not feel the same friendly atmosphere, outside my home I see houses on the same street, but no community. I comprehensibly feel displaced because it is it not an area I value. Furthermore, my neighborhood has shaped me into a charismatic person; it is helpful when encountering social relationships outside of my surroundings. Aside from the personal lessons, I have been influenced to be festive. During most celebrated holiday such as: Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas, my neighborhood embraces their excitement with beautiful decorations. According to the article Social Cohesiveness, Territoriality, and Holiday Decorations by Barbara Brown and Carol Werner, observations on holiday decorations were done on a whole block during Halloween and Christmas; the analyses indicated that attitudes and behaviors combined to reflect degrees of neighborhood attachment, and neighborhood ties were stronger. In a sense, it makes me believe my neighbors unite to beautify our neighborhood streets while sharing common traditions, such as a Christmas tree or the birth of Jesus arrangement. Holidays are my favorite time of the year, because I love to see the streets of my home filled with jolly spirit. Around Christmas, I drive block by block to admire the lovely decorations. The sound of celebration and the smell of festive meals fill the atmosphere. Supermarkets are crowed than ever, parking lots, and traffic is so congested, but I feel satisfied seeing my neighborhood Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Descriptive Essay On My Comfort Place Traveling anywhere can be a hectic experience. Thinking about all of the planning and the actual flying can make what's supposed to a relaxing trip stressful. However, traveling somewhere where you don't know anyone with you or the language where you're going make can amplify the stress. Going to Bali with my CCS group was something I never thought I would be able to do. The majority of the trips I've been on I've typically gone alone due to my anxiety disorder, so going somewhere with complete strangers was already out of my comfort zone. However, I've always wanted to experience other cultures and travel to exotic locations, and I knew to do that knew I had to step out of my comfort zone and select a trip where I knew nothing about. It turns out selecting Bali for my CCE was the right choice. This trip allowed us to completely immerse into the culture for two weeks, and allowed us to take time to learn it alongside each other. In those two weeks, I learned that Balinese culture is a culture very different from our own, and experiencing it was an enormous culture shock. The first notable difference was the food that was served. They didn't have access to many of the foods that we typically would've eaten back home, or there were foods we ate back home that they simply chose not to eat. For example, beef is a large portion of the American diet, but due to the Balinese being Hindu they choose not to consume it and instead they'll typically eat chicken or fish. • 19. Descriptive Essay On A Perfect Place A Perfect Place? Crouched beside my father's hospital bed, I prayed for him to stay alive as he ran his trembling fingers through my soft brown curls for the last time. He focused on my big green eyes as they overflowed with salty tears and whispered: "Sabrina Jane, in no circumstance you will give up hope." Every night I lay in bed, weary of what tomorrow will bring to me and my family without my valiant father for support and protection from the oppressive world we are required to live. I am proceeding to follow in his footsteps to turn this 'utopian world' into a free space where people do not have to be watched, but first I need to get past the government. The government has everyone is fenced in with guards observing their every move, advised that there is a horrid place outside this world and to never leave since there will always be consequences for everything. Except there are always people trying to escape the interior facade of distraught, we hear that they all die from reading the Newspaper and the deafening of the rambunctious sirens that warn us of the dangers from disobeying the Mayor's laws. • 22. Descriptive Essay About A Sacred Place It goes without saying that everyone on earth has at least one sanctuary. For some, this place is high up in the branches of a tree, where they can touch the sky with outstretched fingertips and feign a lack of attachment to the busy world lying below. For others, this sacred place might be found in a place as close and accessible as a cubbyhole in their own home. For others still, it might be in a library, or on a quiet mountaintop, the hard pews of a church building, or even a person. I myself have found my haven to be far away and, for now, out of my reach, in a city called Wilmington in North Carolina. It is the seventh or eighth largest city in the state, but the downtown area isn't too busy to relax and breathe in the fresh air drifting from the beach only a few miles away. It is peaceful and serene, but still bustling with just the right amount of life and activity to be always uplifting, and flawless in its own way. My family used to visit there once a year for about a week in the summer. We would go camping and spend the majority of our time frequenting the beach. Back then I was tiny, but even now I know I would be overwhelmed by the vast space of the sky opened up over me, blue and deep in a reflection of the water below it. I would try with all my might to run through the grainy, hot sand scraping away at the bottoms of my burning feet onto cooler ground, where cool ocean water counteracted the sun's hot touch. Even as a little girl, the beach wasn't just a place Get more content on HelpWriting.net
