• Relate how these aspect of Japanese culture by
history ?
• It is influenced by history in it’s design because
we can see in there designs their old culture and
also in that designs we can see their history
for example:
Theirfamous“Kimono”
The kimono, a robe like
dress, is the traditional
garment of Japan.
Though most Japanese
now wear Western-
style clothing, they
wear kimonos on
holidays and other
special occasions.
These women have
wrapped their kimonos
with a sash called an
obi.
“TheNagoyaCastle”
Although Japan's 17th-
century Nagoya Castle,
built by Tokugawa
Iyeyasu, was destroyed
during World War II, the
castle has been
painstakingly replicated
with all its intricate
details. At either end of
the roof, golden, dolphin
like sea creatures curve
upward, mimicking the
arc of the roofline. Today
Nagoya Castle houses a
museum filled with the
Tokugawa family
treasures that survived
the war.

horseback

calligraphic style, and
there is no attempt to
create a sense of space.
The figures are carefully
drawn, and each face has
its own unique
personality.

Of the many major forms of
regional theater in China,
Peking opera is by far the
most famous. It is a
dramatic form that blends
dance, theater, music, and
acrobatics. Character types

styles. For example, main
male characters sing in the
baritone range; secondary
male characters (usually
unbearded scholars or
lovers) sing in falsetto; and
virtuous female characters
sing in high falsetto.
Performers wear dramatic
makeup or masks.
Accompanying instruments
include bowed and plucked
lutes, drums, clappers,
gongs, cymbals, bamboo
flutes, and oboes. The
example heard here is an
excerpt from the Chaozhou
regional opera Bai Lixi

The Tower of Juche Idea
is a prominent monument
in P’yŏngyang, the capital
of North Korea, rising to a
height of 170 m (560 ft) in
the city center. The tower
glorifies juche idea, a
philosophy of self-reliance
that is a central tenet of
the communist nation.
The monument
commemorates the 70th
birthday of Kim Il Sung,
the “Great Leader” of
North Korea from 1948 to
1994, who introduced
juche idea.

with white and brown
clay.
