Microsoft Word
Microsoft Publisher
Adobe Photoshop
Prezi

Powtoon
Process
For my planning, drafting, evaluation and producing I used several
web applications: prezi, slideshare, powtoon YouTube and wikispace.
I used Prezi for my genre research which is similar to PowerPoint
presentation but slightly more creative providing different types of
templates to present from making it interesting to read.

My final and full product was to be uploaded onto the wikispace
which allowed me to store and organised all my work in one place as
well as upload different web applications making the outcome of my
work to be versatile and resourceful. so it so it wasn’t constricting
to what I could store n the wikispace giving the outcome of my work
to be very resourceful and versatile.
Camera Technology
My SLR camera was used to take the photos for the
magazine which I found to be very effective as the
quality of the camera was extremely clear simple to use
and the photos appeared very professional. The camera
focus fixated more on the model than the background
which was great to have when using photoshop to edit
the background and not worry about the deep focus
being taken off the model. The camera had a vast
amount of memory which was convenient as it allowed
me to take shots of various pictures giving me a good
range to choose from what I wanted to include in the
magazine. It was also a digital camera which allowed to
view my photos right after Id taken to, this helped
assess what looked good on the frame and how I can
improve the next frame to be better and suitable for
the genre of my magazine. I learnt using camera
techniques to help me in certain circumstances as using
the flash was very useful when photographing at
night, it gave the impression that the picture was shot in
a well lit environment, looking like a professional shot.

Furthermore, I was able to separate the front
cover, contents page and double page spread photos
into different folders, enlisting it to be very organised
knowing exactly where they were and much easier to
use when selecting my experimental and final photos.
Websites
I used websites such as dafont.com to help me experiments with
masthead fonts that suited the genre of my magazine. The
website was very useful as it provided various themes and
designs of fonts e.g. fancy, script techno, basic fonts etc so was
adequate for me to select a font that best suited the look of my
product. The website was effortless to use as any fonts I selected
could be downloaded and installed as part of my fonts when I
open software. I also particularly liked the range of free fonts the
website had to provide making my choices not at all restrictive
which was a great advantage for a broader selection.
Photoshop
I used adobe photoshop for my product and
honestly truthfully I found it quite difficult to
use at first because I wasn’t very familiar with all
it certain techniques. I watched online tutorials
with YouTube as well as going to afterschool
photoshop sessions to help develop my product
into realistic looking magazine. Photoshop gave
the benefit of changing the effects of my photos
to look more proficient, crop out any
unnecessary bits and use the various tools on
the side to help me improve the page such as
using texts, brush effects etc. To help me
improve my photoshop skills I constructed
several drafts to help me familiarise myself with
the software so when it came to the final
outcome I was able to experiment more
creatively and simpler to use.
Overall the process of using technology to form
and make my product deemed to be very
successful and informative as it helped broaden
and expand my technology skills to showcase my
product. Without it I wouldn’t have been as
creative and resourceful to draft/form my ideas
using all the research I acknowledged from the
internet to help plan out my product.
