The present paper proposes a new approach of preprocessing for handwritten, printed and isolated numeral characters. The new approach reduces the size of the input image of each numeral by discarding the redundant information. This method reduces also the number of features of the attribute vector provided by the extraction features method. Numeral recognition is carried out in this work through k nearest neighbors and multilayer perceptron techniques. The simulations have obtained a good rate of recognition in fewer running time.

We can find the simultaneous monitoring of thousands of genes in parallel Microarray technology. As per these measurements, microarray technology have proven powerful in gene expression profiling for discovering new types of diseases and for predicting the type of a disease. Gridding, Intensity extraction, Enhancement and Segmentation are important steps in microarray image analysis. This paper gives simple linear iterative clustering (SLIC) based self organizing maps (SOM) algorithm for segmentation of microarray image. The clusters of pixels which share similar features are called Superpixels, thus they can be used as mid-level units to decrease the computational cost in many vision applications. The proposed algorithm utilizes superpixels as clustering objects instead of pixels. The qualitative and quantitative analysis shows that the proposed method produces better segmentation quality than k-means, fuzzy cmeans and self organizing maps clustering methods.

Application of Artificial Neural Network Committee Machine (ANNCM) for the inversion of magnetic anomalies caused by a long-2D horizontal circular cylinder is presented. Although, the subsurface targets are of arbitrary shape, they are assumed to be regular geometrical shape for convenience of mathematical analysis. ANNCM inversion extract the parameters of the causative subsurface targets include depth to the centre of the cylinder (Z), the inclination of magnetic vector(Ɵ)and the constant term (A)comprising the radius(R)and the intensity of the magnetic field(I). The method of inversion is demonstrated over a theoretical model with and without random noise in order to study the effect of noise on the technique and then extended to real field data. It is noted that the method under discussion ensures fairly accurate results even in the presence of noise. ANNCM analysis of vertical magnetic anomaly near Karimnagar, Telangana, India, has shown satisfactory results in comparison with other inversion techniques that are in vogue.The statistics of the predicted parameters relative to the measured data, show lower sum error (<9.58%) and higher correlation coefficient (R>91%) indicating that good matching and correlation is achieved between the measured and predicted parameters.

A critical issue in biological neural network modelling is the parameter tuning of a model by means of the numerical simulations to map a real scenario. This approach requires a huge amount of computational resources to assesses the impact of every model value that, generally, changes the network response. In this paper we analyse the performance of a CA1 neural network microcircuit model for pattern recognition. Moreover, we investigate its scalability and benefits on multi core and on parallel and distributed architectures.

Deep learning enhanced the state-of-the-art methods in genomics allows it to be used in analysing the biological data with high prediction. The training process of neural network with several hidden layers which has been facilitated by deep learning has been subjected into increased interest in achieving remarkable results in various fields. Thus, the extraction of bioprocess production can be implemented by pathway prediction in genomic metabolic network in eschericia coli. As metabolic engineering involves the manipulation of genes which have the potential to increase the yield of metabolite production. A mathematical model of this network is the foundation for the development of computational procedure that directs genetic manipulations that would eventually lead to optimized bioprocess production. Due to the ability of deep learning to be well suited in terms of genomics, modelling for biological network can be implemented. Each layer reveal the insight of biological network which enable pathway analysis to be implemented in order to extract the target bioprocess production. In this study, deep neural network has been to identify any set of gene deletion models that offers optimal results in xylitol production and its growth yield.
