WHAT IS FOOTBALLWHAT IS FOOTBALL
• Commonly known as football or soccer
• Two teams of eleven players
• Espherical Ball
• It is played on a rectangular field
• It is the most popular sport in the world
• The objetc of the game is to score by
driving the ball into the opposing goal
HISTORYHISTORY
• The Football Asociation was created in
1863
• However the history of football in England
date back to at least the Middle Ages
• The english football at the beggining was
characterized by a little organization and
extreme violence
• Today football is played at a professional
level all over the world
GAMEPLAY AND LAWSGAMEPLAY AND LAWS
• The Laws of the Game specify the number
of specialised roles, these include three
main categories:
– Strikers
– Defenders
– Midfielders
GAMEPLAY AND LAWSGAMEPLAY AND LAWS
• Football is played with a set of rules:
Laws of the Game
• The team that have scored more goals at
the end of the game is the winner
• The primary law is that players other than
goalkeepers may not deriberately handle
the ball with their hands or arms during
the play
• The ball cannot be received in an offiside
possition
• Opposing players may try to regain the
control of the ball
• Physical contact between opponents is
restricted
• There are seventeen laws in the official
Laws of the Game
• The Laws of the Game are published by
FIFA
