1. Task 2: Men’s Magazines
These two magazines are aimed at different ages and interests of men. The magazine on the left is
aimed at intellectual, older men. This can be seen from the large picture of the president of the US;
which could imply news from the US, which older men may find interesting.
The second magazine, however, is aimed at younger men who want a magazine full of pictures of
naked women. You can see this from the writing “when breasts escape!” The magazine is also
advertising “the hot new ford” which can be seen in a plug.
