2. The Washington Monument was
built in memory of the first U.S.

He led the nation during the American Civil War, prevented the U.S.
from disintegration and abolished slavery.
5. The Roosevelt Memorial consists of four sections, depicting each term of
the 32nd U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945).
In view of President Roosevelt’s physical disability, the memorial is
accessible to those with physical impairments.
He led the United States during World War II. He is the only president who
was elected to office more than twice.
6. The Korean War Veterans Memorial is dedicated to the one and a half
million Americans who fought to protect South Korea in a three-year
war against North Korea – 131 of them received the Medal of Honor.
7. The Vietnam Veterans
Memorial honors the over
58,000 dead and many more
injured Americans who
participated in the Vietnam War
(1955-1973).
