The plains people lived in a region that
was made up of dry prairies and hills.
The Great Plains is on the east side of
the Rocky Mountains
4. SHELTER
The Lakota lived in teepees
Tepees are buffalo hide tents that were
cone shaped
The Lakota traveled from place to place.
The shape of the teepee made it easier
to carry.
5. FOOD SOURCES
The Lakota ate buffalo berries cherries
and wild greens
The Lakota used every part of the buffalo
the used the intestines of the buffalo for
carrying water.
The buffalo meaty that was not eaten right
away was dried and made into jerky.
6. CLOTHING
The Lakota wore buffalo skins they also
wore feather head dresses.
The Lakota wore moccasins to cover
there feet.
7. EVERYDAY LIFE
Women- in charge of homes, built the
homes and carried the homes whenever
they moved
Men- were the hunters, warriors and in
charge of feeding and protecting their
families.
