11/15/2010 Kesha Walker EDU 271 Body Parts Let’s look deeper Inside the body. Do you know what is under Your skin? How do you move around? How do you grow taller?
The muscular system We have more than 600 muscles in our body. They have many important jobs. They do quite a bit to help you. Some things include pumping blood throughout your body, helping you lift items like your backpack, and running and playing.
11/15/2010 Kesha Walker EDU 271 Body Parts Let’s look at the heart. The muscle that makes Up the heart is called cardiac muscle.
11/15/2010 Kesha Walker EDU 271 Body Parts Let’s look at the skeletal muscle The skeletal muscles are some-times called striated muscle. These are called voluntary muscles. You can control what they do. These muscles help to make up the musculoskeletal system. This is a combination of your muscles and your skeleton, or bones.
11/15/2010 Kesha Walker EDU 271 Body Parts Let’s look at the stomach That has smooth muscles The smooth muscle is sometimes called involuntary muscles, meaning you don’t have control over it.
11/15/2010 Kesha Walker EDU 271 Body Parts Let’s look at the skeleton Do you know we have 206 bones in our body?
11/15/2010 Kesha Walker EDU 271 Body Parts Let’s see more about bones
11/15/2010 Kesha Walker EDU 271 Body Parts Do You have any questions? Let’s think about how we can Keep the muscles and bones healthy.
