4. Early Works. ‘ LadyGarden’ shows an exploration of materials, its built up of many layers portraying things as they don’t initially seem. The flowers are in a monotone contrast to the background and are made of provoking images also built up in layers I made three in this series each using a range of materials from varnish to ink to collage. 7. I wanted to create something that initially arouses fear, bringing it to the forefront of the viewers mind. The film piece is a reflection of some images portrayed in my nightmares, taken from horror films I have seen personally. Images of people asleep, in their most vulnerable state contrast with the scary images bringing a link between sleep and nightmares. These are from a different collection to the polaroids, taken from found sources mostly on the internet. I decided to add different audios to help disorient the viewer, they are from other horror films and are cut over different pieces of film. SweetDreams.Video Stills 2.42Mins approx.2007.

13. Using some selected quotes from the posters, I began to explore methods displaying it, or manipulating it. Using photoshop I made these photographs. Each represents a different feeling whether its just toilet humour or something deeper. The photographs are layered with found images from the internet. I find this a running theme through my work. I enjoy using found objects, in this case, images . These images are not air brushed to perfection. I have left some of the raw imperfections purposely, the focus should not be on just the image, but of what it means. ’Church Bores me’ was a quote that stuck in my mind. If you’re a deeply religious person, confessing you don’t like church is a big deal, which is why it struck me as something unusual to say and worth high lighting.. Toilet Humour. Photograph.
