3. It's been a tough last 12 months in many ways, and even the
strongest person can become weighed down and ultimately
depressed to some degree by life. It happened to me in late
January. I had several hundred people in the SQL community
wish me well and probably 30 of those said they had suffered
recently, or constantly with depression. As I said in my blog
post back then, it's not something to be ashamed of. It can
happen to anyone. And if it happens to you, remember you
are not alone! The best thing you can do is talk to someone
about it, someone who cares for you, and don't give up.

Consider asking for a better time to speak, whenever possible. Give yourself the time you need before

35. I Still Face Challengesā¦
ā¢ TSI requirements around Certifications at Microsoft.
ā¢ Topics arenāt interesting or part of my role/day-to-day job.
ā¢ Deadlines for training on top of customer workload.
ā¢ Unable to choose the certifications they require you to pass.
ā¢ Training is around 60 hrs. or more for me due to ADHD loss of focus.
ā¢ More-so, the company in charge of the testing is excruciating to work with.
ā¢ Time test.
ā¢ Extensive review of environment for remote testing.
ā¢ Online software isnāt robust, often fails.
ā¢ Scheduling is often flawed, (complex time zone challenges, no reminders, etc.)
ā¢ Can take upwards to an hour or more to get into the system before taking the test.
