2. Lacey Mosley was born on September 4 th , 1981 in Arlington, Texas. She is 27 years old. She is 4 feet and 10 inches tall. Lacey belongs to a family of a single mom and six brothers and sisters. The family was poor, and when ends did not meet in one place, they had to move to another. Throughout her earlier years, she was an outspoken atheist. Between moving and fights with her mother, what Lacey describes as "a war zone going on at home", she began dabbling in drugs since she was ten years old. The fighting became so intense that she was forced to move in with her grandparents in Gulfport Mississippi. After leaving her family and leaving drugs, Lacey experienced what she described as a "nervous breakdown," cutting off her hair and beginning to consider suicide. Her grandmother became distressed and urged Lacey to attend church, after which she became a Christian. In 2000, Mosley began to play with drummer James Culpepper. The pair worked with guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann, forming a group named Passerby, renamed Flyleaf in June 2004.
3. Childhood Lacey Mosley spent her early years in Arlington (TX). As a young teenager, she was given a bass guitar on Christmas day. The guitar became a passion. At the age of 16, after a series of fights with her mom, she went to live with her grandmother in nearby Gulfport. Attending Gulfport high school she made a new circle of musical friends, and soon she was playing in a school band. Lacey took to going with her grandmother to church - through which she found a new sense of purpose to her life. A couple of years later Lacey moved to Temple. Here she met James Culpepper (drums), Sameer Bhattacharya (guitar), and Jared Hartmann (guitar). Together they formed and band, with the name Passerby. She grew up with her parents fighting all the time. The fighting got so bad she had to move to Mississippi with her grandparents.
