MAINTAINING SAFETY DURING COVID-19
S
everal months into the coronavirus pandemic, golf has resumed in various countries around
the world. The resumption during the summer months is timely, offering players a chance to
enjoy the weather and their favourite game. However, due to the pandemic, certain aspects
have been adjusted to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.
3. Wear a Mask
Many courses that open up are likely to
insist on players wearing a mask, especially
during interactions in the clubhouse or any
other areas where players and staff will be
together.
Hydration
Drinking stations have been eliminated on
golf courses to reduce potential touch-
points. Therefore, players should bring their
own water and ensure it’s enough to last
them until the end of their game.
Extra Tees and Balls
Players will be expected to carry extra
tees and balls to use on the golf course, as
borrowing from others is not encouraged.
Packed Snacks
Many clubhouses will continue to offer
food and beverages, but often for take-
out purposes only and with limited menu
options. While it’s worthwhile to support the
food providers, players are encouraged to
pack their own snacks.
