 No more than one or two paragraphs to
explain the most important concepts of a
feature
 An image or eLearning
simulation/demonstration to support the text
 Engage and teach the user
 Treat users as learners… not users

 If you have created an eLearning lesson using
eLearning tools such as Adobe Captivate,
TechSmith’s Camtasia Studio or Articulate’s
Storyline, you can insert the multimedia
directly into your topics.
 When the topic is displayed in a web browser
or HTML Help, the lesson will play.

 Keep the lesson shorter than a standalone
lesson
 Help learners are stressed out
 5 minutes is typical for an eLearning lesson
 30-90 seconds works great for an eLearning
lesson embedded within Help
 Demos are OK
 Customize the playbar
 Remove unnecessary tools
