Konnect Capabilities & Key differentiating factors
A Secure & User Friendly Document Repository
Documents uploaded into Konnect are instantly
converted into a browser friendly format for easy
viewing without the need to download the files. At
the same time, powerful security settings can be
applied for controlling the sharing, downloading and
printing of files. Konnect Document Repository
supports all common document formats (like .doc,
.xls, .ppt, .pdf, .txt ) to be rendered in a secure & user
friendly manner.
Video Library
Konnect provides for a YouTube like video sharing
application that lets employees publish videos within
Konnect and watch them directly in the web browser.
Smart People Finder | Search
Konnect automatically associates concepts with people
based on the content they create & the tags used by
them. The People Finder graphically displays those
correlations making it easier to discover expertise and
artifacts in your organization leading to improved
productivity and easier access to more relevant people &
knowledge.
When a concept is entered in search box, People Finder centers on that concept & all people (with the
connections to that concept) are shown using a visual representation & the right side of people finder
lists down related artifacts & their content types (document, blog, bookmark, skill/expertise, event,
etc..) in relation to that concept.
Users can now filter by content type on the right hand side – for example, filter by ‘documents’ to view
all related documents to that concept and the people who have submitted them.
When a person’s name is clicked, the right hand pane changes the perspective to display the
contributions from that person and their content type. Clicking on the artifact will load the content piece
that the person created or tagged.
Konnect Internet/Intranet Search
It’s a fact that most people would search the internet using their favorite search engine for information
rather than looking for it in their own intranet. Konnect addresses this by delivering search results from
within the Intranet right alongside Google search results thus greatly enhancing the quality of search
results by showing relevant artifacts, discussions, bookmarks, related users and tags (from within the
organization) for your search query.

In addition to the search results from
within the organization (bookmarks,
documents, discussions) related tags & the
associated people are also shown. In a
corporate context, showing the relevant
people is very important & beneficial for
people to connect to each other and this is
one way for people to discover other
people.
Mini Profiles/Infocard
Every Konnect user is provided with a profile
page which along with the user’s basic contact
or business information, also dynamically
aggregates the user's activity and contributed
content in a consolidated dashboard. The user
profile provides insight to the user perspective
and helps people to identify peers with
required skills or common interests.
A live mini profile also known as an 'Infocard' provides quick essential information about users and can
be brought up by bringing the mouse over on a users name anywhere within Konnect.
Konnect Desktop Client
The Konnect Desktop Client lets you
quickly search through all content on
the Konnect platform, provides direct
discussion capabilities, document
submission, adding of ideas and also
lets you send micro-blogging updates
from your desktop and without you
