2. Costume has a vital role in films. Usually the
costume determines a character’s
characteristics. The audience often makes a
prejudgement of a character just from their
costume before they are set in motion. For
instance, the audience establish whether the
character is bad, good, unsettled, eccentric etc.
3. Each horror film varies in the costumes that are
used depending on numerous factors such as the
plot, the character and the type of horror film e.g.
Slasher-horror. The type of horror film that our
film opening conforms to the most is ‘Slasher’
horror. Therefore the costume that we are using
for our characters are relatively modern.
4. For the character Danny, we have decided to have him
wear a dark grey hoody (with the hood up), trainers
and beige trousers. Sarah’s costume includes black
jeans, a jumper, a black jacket and trainers.
We have chosen these costumes because our target
audience are young people (teenagers and young
adults) and the characters are portraying young
people too.
5. Danny’s costume suggests suspense because he
is wearing grey which is usually associated with
gloom and misery, which matches his character
profile as he wants to get revenge and wants to
cause despair for Sarah.
