Each week parents are to [Read] chapters from Romans before beginning the time with
the kids. This will help you to know where the week is heading for discussions. It will
also help you to go through the seven [Q.]uestions of the week and make a note or two
about them if needed. You may want to underline words or parts of verses in your
Bible to help you reference [A.]nswers.
Colors help us to remember things. The first week the word is ‘Belief’. Ask your child
what color they think of when they hear the word ‘Belief’. If this is too hard for
them, choose a color together. You might also want to ask, ‚What made you think of
that color for ‘Belief’?‛ or explain why you think the color you chose together is a good
one. Then take a colored pencil, crayon or marker and fill in [The Leaf for the Week]
on the My Conversion Tree at this end. Click [here] to go there and print a copy now.
A Short Story from the book of Acts is for you to read like a poem to your child or to
read together. The first week’s poem is about Lydia’s conversion. You and your child
may want to draw a picture of what is happening in the story.

Each day you will ask the questions, read verses together, and ask more questions. For
example, this week say, “Question: What is the Gospel? Let’s read the letter to the
Roman Christians—in chapter 1 verses 2 and 3 and also verse 16.” [Read] Then
say, ‚Question: What is the Gospel? Answer: It is the power of God for salvation; it is
the Gospel of God and concerns His Son, Jesus Christ; this is the truth Paul preached
to everyone. Question: What is the Gospel? The answer is, It is the power of God for
salvation.‛ The underlined portion is what is the simplest answer and is what is
included in the week’s review.
Leave the rest of the questions for each day in the week to come. Each ‚tomorrow‛ you
will go over what you have already done with your child (the Color of Belief, the
Poem, Memory Verse, Question 1, Answer 1, and then go on to Question/Answer 2 just
like the day before with asking, reading, answering. Each day will go through this
pattern adding Questions and Answers.
On the seventh day, you will go through the same pattern as above, but include all
Questions and Answers listed at the end, and then include a song, and a closing prayer
from the history of the church—or you may just want to include your own or write one

But when midnight came Paul and Silas were singing

A great earthquake shook opened their cell doors _The jailer awakened and drew his sword
