2. System 4.0 came with the Mac SE and Macintosh II , which required additional support for the first expansion slots, the Apple Desktop Bus (ADB), internal hard drives and on the Mac II, color, larger displays and the first Motorola 68020 processor.
3. -was a personal computer manufactured by Apple between March 1987 and October 1990. This computer marked a significant improvement on the Macintosh Plus design and was introduced by Apple at the same time as the Macintosh II. It had a similar case to the original Macintosh computer, but with slight differences in color and styling. Macintosh SE
4. The Apple Macintosh II was the first personal computer model of the Macintosh II series in the Apple Macintosh line. The Macintosh II introduced space for an internal hard disk (originally 20 MB or 40 MB) and an optional second floppy disk drive. It also was the first Macintosh computer, simultaneously with the Macintosh SE, to use the Apple Desktop Bus (ADB), introduced with the Apple IIGS, for keyboard and mouse interface.
5. Apple Desktop Bus (or ADB ) is an obsolete bit-serial computer bus connecting low-speed devices to computers. Used primarily on the Macintosh platform, ADB equipment is still available but not supported by most Apple hardware manufactured since 1999.
6. The Motorola 68020 is a 32-bit microprocessor from Motorola, released in 1984. It is the successor to the Motorola 68010 and is succeeded by the Motorola 68030. The 68020 (usually just referred to as the '020, pronounced oh-two-oh or oh-twenty ) had 32-bit internal and external data and address buses. A lower cost version, the 68EC020, only had a 24-bit address bus. The 68020 was produced at speeds ranging from 12 MHz to 33 MHz.
9. EMPTY DESKTOP The first screenshot shows Finder, while the second one MultiFinder, new to this edition of Mac OS. MultiFinder allows running more than one application at a time, and can be noticed by an icon in top-right corner of the screen.
22. DIALOGS Macintosh System 4.2 was the first to introduce optional MultiFinder, allowing for basic task switching between applications (provided that Macintosh had enough memory).
