1. Could anybody apply for a real-estate license in Texas?
Anybody can fill in the license application form and submit
the mandatory charges, but unless all of the other license
requirements are met then this is a waste of time and
funds. Particular educational requirements must be
fulfilled for the state to issue a license to work as a real
estate salesperson. Proof of meeting the educational
prerequisites must be sent in along with the application
form and charges. Without this confirmation the state
won't approve the license and the costs will be given up.
2. Anybody with a criminal record will usually be denied for a
license, even though this is not true in every single case. A
background check and finger print check will be carried
out on every license applicant. Any legal
prosecutions, particularly for certain violent or monetary
offenses, can result in an automatic application rejection.
People with these prosecutions must choose another job
instead.
3. A real-estate license in Texas will only be accredited when
the person can pass the accreditation examination. This
assessment is given by a testing service company known
as PSI, and the exam can only be taken soon after the
state has obtained and approved the license application.
Once the application is eligible the individual will receive a
duplicate of the Applicant Info Pamphlet which describes
how to register for the test and schedule the testing. The
applicant has one year to take the license examination
once an application for the license is filed with the state.
4. Every applicant for a license to sell real-estate must be
sponsored before the candidate can practice alone. This
means finding a real estate agent who is willing to work as
a sponsor and let the individual take part in real-estate
transactions under their expert oversight. Until the active
license is accredited by the state the person can't take
part in any way in real-estate deals.
5. The basic requirements that the state has in position must
be met for a license to be accredited. Individuals who
don't meet these requirements will waste money
applying mainly because the fee is forfeited and the
application would be refused.
