Total compensation statements are a great tool to drive employee engagement and retention - the problem is that traditional printed annual statements are not only outdated from the time they are printed but are expensive and time consuming to produce for HR teams with limited resources. In these slides, former Director of HRIS & HR Operations for Silicon Valley Bank Christopher Ford will share how leading HR departments are transforming an outdated compensation statement process into a value-driven total rewards system that generates measurable improvement in engagement at a lower cost.

The next five years are poised to bring more changes to the design and implementation of Total Rewards systems than we’ve seen in the last 20 years. Conventional approaches of organizations developing their own talent have been replaced with a “free agency” model of buying experience from competitors, which in turn ratchets up labor costs. This also creates more pressure to retain and engage existing employees and attract new employees through an improved employee value proposition.

Non-monetary incentives and recognition programmes are an area of employee motivation that is often overlooked. Yet, as Fisher's book reveals, a strategic focus on non-cash rewards can generate significant return on investment in terms of employee engagement, performance improvement and financial results. In the present economic context, with companies pushing to deliver more for less, it is a particularly pertinent issue. Strategic Reward and Recognition brings together theory and practice to guide HR professionals, consultants and senior leaders in developing the most effective programmes for their organizations. It features examples of good practice from all over the world, from different sectors and from both large and small organizations, providing coverage of digital as well as in-person schemes.

Reward management introduces policies and strategies that reward every employee within the business fairly and consistently across the board. Rewarding employees for outstanding work makes them feel valued and can prove to be a powerful motivational tool that boosts productivity. The most successful reward management programs provide employees with opportunities to elevate themselves and allow businesses to recognize good workers. Rewards can come in many forms, with the most effective supporting your business’s overall strategy, purpose, culture and performance, and employee requirements. If you are thinking about implementing a reward management scheme, you should give serious consideration to how you are going to manage it. What rewards will your employees appreciate – will these rewards benefit your employees financially, add to their lifestyle or improve their lives? Will the rewards benefit your company’s culture and boost its performance? Are you recognizing and responding to changes in reward expectations of employees? A compelling reward management program promotes a healthy work-life balance that allows your employees to feel at and perform at their best. It can also contribute to thriving business culture and foster a compassionate environment and caring community. Whilst pay and benefits are significant, research has identified that non-financial rewards can be just as incentivizing for employees.

A company offer a competitive compensation arrangement in order to attract, retain, and motivate a qualified CEO to manage the organization. This Quick Guide examines the elements of executive compensation and the process by which the compensation committee establishes pay packages. It examines the questions: • What is the purpose of a compensation program? • How do boards structure pay? • What is the difference between expected, earned, and realized pay? • How much do CEOs make? • Are CEOs paid the “right” amount? For an expanded discussion, see Corporate Governance Matters: A Closer Look at Organizational Choices and Their Consequences (Second Edition) by David Larcker and Brian Tayan (2015): http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/faculty-research/books/corporate-governance-matters-closer-look-organizational-choices Buy This Book: http://www.ftpress.com/store/corporate-governance-matters-a-closer-look-at-organizational-9780134031569 For permissions to use this material, please contact: E: corpgovernance@gsb.stanford.edu Copyright 2015 by David F. Underwhelming Pay Strategy = Underwhelming Results If I'm a CEO, I need my employees to draw the same conclusion I do about "what's important." And I want them to behave in a way that reflects that understanding and commitment. To accomplish that there must be alignment between the growth goals of the company, its business model and strategy, roles and expectations and financial rewards. So how do you create that line of sight and instill a sense of stewardship among employees through compensation? If these are issues you struggle with, you will not want to miss this presentation! By: The VisionLink Advisory Group. Most of the small, emerging (SME's) organization 's CEO or Business heads have a challenge on "PEOPLE MANAGEMENT." When the business head does not plan and execute the people management process effectively, the organization suffers from slipping deliveries, quality issues, increase in human resources cost, IR related problems and eventually all those failures affecting the business profitability and growth. The solutions call for a holistic approach to all aspects of the people management process, and this presentation attempts to give some perspectives from my experience with SME's in different regions. Recently I shared this presentation in one of the SME 's CEO forum and received a lot of interaction and appreciation. Hope this helps for business heads / CEO's

Attracting Premier Talent Comes with a Price You Can’t Afford Not to Pay! PwC’s 18th Annual Global CEO Survey revealed that “one of the biggest headaches for CEOs is making sure that the organization has the right people to cope with what lies ahead.” It further said that “CEOs need to be sure that the business is fit to react quickly to whatever the future may throw at it – and that means filling it with adaptable, creative people, working in a culture where energy fizzes and ideas spark into life. If they can’t be found, they must be created.” View this presentation that will address how you can successfully address this priority for your organization.

Most business leaders know that some portion of their pay construct should be in the form of incentives, but are left struggling to find answers to these kinds of questions: How much of someone’s pay should be variable? And who should have incentive pay as part of their mix? How much of the incentive should be short-term and how much should be based on long-term performance? What type of incentive(s) should it be. If these are questions you struggle with, you will not want to miss this.
