Argumentative Vs Informative Research
Do you know the difference between Argumentative and Informative Writing? Their is at lot of
things that is difference. One thing is that an "argument" isn't just two people yelling at each other
it's having different opinions on things argumentative essays are different from informative essays
in the same way that opinions are different from facts. An argumentative essay is a essay that they
have things for a text that that authors says and you like saying the reasons why you want to pick
that side. In an argumentative text, you give reasons for doing something and that the reading must
have agree or disagree in the essay.Anther reason is that the argumentative essay has a lot of quotes
and in a informational essay there is not a loot of quotes

Argumentative essays are very important because of their ability to help people argue in a mature
manner. However, many people do not know how to successfully write an argumentative essay.
Writing argumentative essays is easy once they are broken down into a few simple parts. These
essays should be taken seriously and written with passion and facts. To write a successful
argumentative essay, start off with a good hook, make claims that are backed by evidence, and then
refute the opposing side's arguments.
The first step in creating a successful argumentative essay is to write a powerful introduction. This
includes a hook, background information, and your thesis. A good hook can include a funny
anecdote, a shocking fact, or an inspiring quote.

Argumentative Essays
Failure is the step towards success. Do you agree?
It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a
motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled.
Failure often times leads a person to feel helpless, disappointed and depressed. However, one should
not allow this to set them back in trying to achieve the ultimate aim one has set out to do. Failure in
the beginning can often be a powerful incentive to reassess one's position in wanting to achieve the
particular aims; to analyse whether the purpose is worth the trouble the person has to undergo and
the whether the obstacles are surmountable. Practical and...show more content...
Another disadvantage of being an only is that he lacks companionship. He has no brother or sister
to confide in. Growing up as an only child can be very lonely. If you have siblings you will have
to share everything, so you get less; but you also get less of the bad things. Siblings can support
and comfort each in times of trouble. The elder siblings learn to care for the younger ones and the
younger ones learn to respect their elder siblings and have someone to look up to besides their
parents. You are more balanced person than an only child. Another advantage of having siblings is
that your parents' attention is divided among your siblings. As a result, there is less pressure on you
to perform well, be it academically or in other areas. Having siblings also means that you have
companionship, the joy of caring and sharing, and security. I, personally, am happy that I am not an
only child.
Students should not take up part time jobs. Discuss.
Nowadays, students love to have part–time jobs. Their parents approve it easily as they are said to
gain experience from working. However, having a job is a big responsibility for a student. Before,
teenagers at their age were working to help their family because of poverty. Nevertheless, they
were actually eager to study and learn at school for their future. It was not the same as the teenagers
nowadays where they are more likely competing to each other to have a job. Most of the

Argumentative Essay : My Writing Experience
This spring semester while enrolled in Professor Hazleton course I was able to have a much
better writing experience than the one I had in the fall semester. During the fall semester I
struggled deeply with essays, making no higher than a C at times. I was a new incoming freshmen
with no experience in college once at all and by coming from a school that never really required
me to write any type of essays I was sure to have a rough start. Yet, this semester was different I felt
more confident while writing my papers. Argumentative type essays are actually pretty fun to
write because you are able to pick the topic of your choice and that really helps one feel like he
actually knows what he is talking about. I have written 4 argumentative type essays throughout
the course and have noticed my writing still needs work. Although I still have a long while to go
I have developed a few strengthens during the course. I am now good at working with syllogism
in order to make a good enthymeme thesis and now have good skills in providing evidence, but
even though I have made process I still need work in areas like avoid first person and backing up my
claims all the way through.
Although, I have more weaknesses than strengths my effectiveness towards using a syllogism to
create an enthymeme thesis has really came a long way for me. It came in handy in my "More Than
Just One Language" paper where my professor made a comment stating that I had a very good thesis
in substance. To develop

Examples Of Argumentative Essay
Argumentative essay presents a point of view about something and explains the reasons in order to
win readers' agreement. It is built around a specific statement (or main premise) that is debatable
within the field in which students are studying. In other words, at the center of an argumentative
essay is a statement with which readers may disagree. The argumentative essay will need to support
that statement in a manner that convinces the readers of its truth. It mainly strives to convince the
reader of the writer's point of view, using reasonable and ethical methods .The process of argument
composition varies from writer to writer, most writers follow these three stages: forming an
argument, which can consist of discovering a motive for writing and identifying an audience to
address, discovering and sharpening a position, and developing an appropriate style; supporting the
argument; and reviewing the argument, which can include considering the image projected by
argument, making substantial additions or deletions to a first draft, and adding an introduction and
conclusion (Cheng and Chen 2009, Day,1997, Liu,2005,Mayberry,2009)....show more content...
The first feature is superstructure which refers to the organizational plan of any text and the linear
progression of the text. The second feature is the quality of logical reasoning which is assessed by
analyzing the interrelationships of writers' assertions and the associated support or data provided to
substantiate those claims. The third feature is identified as persuasive appeal, including affective
appeal and establishment of writer credibility. Finally, she notes that audience awareness is an
important characteristic of successful argumentative writing. The writer must observe an awareness
of the reader's perspective by dealing implicitly or explicitly with possible

Argumentative Essay On Memorials
Memorializing events in the history of the world for any purpose has it's positives as well as the
negatives. Ranging from a memorial of a popular United States president from a loved one of a
family, memorials have generally served as a purpose of remembrance from the past of said event.
The purpose of the memorial is usually associated with a positive, uplifting feeling towards the
deceased individual or past event. While this is more or less simply defining what memorials are
for, what is the meaning behind them? What purpose do they serve besides the simplicity that they
are? Important messages from a few varied sources will give a differing viewpoint on memorials
from one to another. The first thought of memorials is the simple, generic...show more content...
Memorials are meant to be striking in the sense that you will notice said memorial and donate some
attention to it. The views of these see this attention capturing as exceedingly high for some purposes.
Some memorials are outstanding in their craftsmanship and aesthetics. This makes people wonder
what could be lurking inside the memorial, or what is near that memorial. What we've got here is a
formula, striking looks of the monument is almost guaranteed to attract some form of attention.
According to Source G, the analogy of tainting the planet with specific memorials are ridiculous, "I
imagined taking a knife and cutting into the earth, opening it up, an initial violence and pain that in
time would heal. The grass would grow back, but the initial cut would remain a pure flat surface in
the earth with a polished, mirrored surface, much like the surface on a geode when you cut it and
polish the edge. The need for the names to be on the memorial would become the memorial; there
was no need to embellish the design further. The people and their names would allow everyone to
respond and remember. The ideals of such nonsensical placements of the memorials are just irritable

Argumentative Essay On Vegetarianism
Around 7.3 million people in the United States are vegetarian ("Vegetarian Times"). The dictionary
defines a vegetarian as "A person who does not eat meat, and sometimes other animal products,
especially for moral, religious or health reasons" ("Vegetarian Definition"). Practicing a religion that
advocates vegetarianism is one of many reasons some people follow a vegetarian diet. A senior at
Liberty–Benton High School who considers herself a pescatarian, a person whose only meat source
is fish and seafood, promotes others to join in on a diet like hers. She claims that over the three
years of her pescatarian diet she has become healthier and happier. Vegetarianism is a controversial
topic, but overall, it creates a healthier lifestyle,...show more content...
During the 80's and 90's, people became vegetarians more because of environmental issues. In the
mid 90's, the Mad Cow disease, Listeria, and Salmonella break out occurred, making people more
cautious of meat eating.
The Animal Welfare Act was established in 1996 and signed by Lyndon B. Johnson (Animal
Welfare Act). The Animal Welfare Act has authority over animals in laboratories, animal exhibitors,
dealers who sell animals to research laboratories, dog and cat breeders, animal carriers, intermediate
handlers, circuses, zoos, puppy roadside menageries, mills, and transporters of animals. Under the
Act, people must provide their animals with adequate care and treatment in the areas of housing,
handling, sanitation, nutrition, water, veterinary care, and protection from extreme weather and
temperatures (Animal Welfare Act). People that disobey the Act can receive punishments such as
revoked license, imprisonment, or a fine. Over one million birds and mammals are violently killed
every hour in the United States, and an estimated 150 billion animals per year are murdered
worldwide (Arora). Animal slaughterhouses for large food companies are known for animal cruelty
and vegetarians recognize this. Many vegetarians also boycott places like SeaWorld who keep wild
animals locked in cages. Every day in countries around the world, animals are fighting for their lives.
They are enslaved, beaten, and kept in chains to make them perform for human "entertainment."

The Importance Of Writing An Argumentative Essay
As a student in a beginning English class some elements may seem difficult at the beginning but
with practice they become long lasting skills. Writing an argumentative is not an easy task there is a
lot of elements that have to come together to create a successful essay but as many other things, it
requires constant practice and effort. At the start of this course I wasn't a very good writer myself,
and I can see the huge improvement this course made by looking at my first argumentative essay. I
was able to identify and apply the requisites of a good argument essay. A well thought structure,
reliable evidence, and a counterargument are three essential components of argumentative writing.
The structure of an essay is the foundation to a good argumentative paper. Throughout this course
I learned the importance of having an essay structure, before I started this class I didn't have a
very clear vision of how to correctly format my essay. In my diagnostic essay, which was the first
one I wrote for English 1302, had five paragraphs. That is considered a standard structure of many
essays but it is more of a skeleton. Looking back at that essay I see how poor my introduction was,
I did not even have a clear thesis. One only thing even close to one that I could spot was, "The
"millennials," people born in the last two decades of the 20th century, are failing to reflect Rich's
model for a good education." It merely addresses the topic in a simple way. It did not serve the
purpose a

Argumentative Reflection
Argumentative Essay Reflection One of my central struggles throughout high school has been
writing essays and reports for all classes not just english. I was a little worried when I signed up to
take this course, since it counted as a college credit. Even though I was worried about taking this
course, but I am thankful that I did. The main reason behind my decision to take this course is
because I thought it would better prepare me for college. This argumentative essay was one of the
hardest essay that I have written. I have never written in this style before this essay. Even though, I
have never been the best writer, I have always got good grades. After receiving my first rough draft I
knew this class was not going to be easy. The part...show more content...
One of the areas of my writing where I was struggling in using my voice. Granite, there were parts
of my essay where I successfully integrated quotes within my voice, but for the most part that was
my weakest area. For example of one of my better integrated quotes, in my third paragraph when I
say, "Today, consumers rely on social media for everything, whether it is communicating with old
friends, finding new friends, shopping, researching, and staying informed with the latest news.
Daniel adds that, "'Americans who take part in political activities on social networking sites also
tend to be highly active in other areas of political or civic life'" (29), which insinuates that people
rely on social media more today than we have in the past". This was one of my better examples
because I further explain and analyze the quote in my voice instead of just ending the sentence
after the quote. One of my poor examples is, "Many people who suffer from depression care a lot
about what others think about them. That is why many of those people tend to turn to social
media as an outlet to express their feelings". I made a bold statement and did not back up what I
said with my voice I just ended that sentence and moved on. Instead of moving on I should have
explained it further and told them why people tend to turn to social media to express their feelings.

Arguments Against Juries
Arguments For and Against Juries
The right to a trial by jury is a tradition that goes right to the heart of the British legal system. It is a
right fiercely fought for, and fiercely defended at those times when its powers have been seen to be
under threat – as those backing reforms are finding. The tradition of being "tried by a jury of ones
peers" probably has its origins in Anglo Saxon custom, which dictated that an accused man could be
acquitted if enough people came forward to swear his innocence. Trial by jury was first enshrined in
law in what has been seen as the world's first proclamation of human rights – the Magna Carter. The
document, decreed in 1215 by King John after a rebellion by...show more content...
Minor offences, such as drunkenness, could only be tried by magistrates, and major offences, such
as murder and rape, only by jury. The government now wants to limit the number of cases which are
"triable either way".
There have been many debates throughout time about the effectivness of juries. SWR worldwide
was commisioned by The Bar Council and The Law Society to conduct research of 903 members of
the public aged between 18 and over across England. The findings were as follows;

The above chart shows a clear agreement of the general public on juries and the trust they show in
their abilities. Similarly the research showed that the public has more faith in police and juries than
others in the justice system.
В· Respondents are most likely to have confidence in the police (81%) and juries (80%) than in
other players in the justice system.
В· Most think a jury of 12 individuals rather than a judge and two magistrates would be more likely
to reflect their own (73%) and society at large's (80%) views and values.
В· In fact, two thirds (64%) say that, should they appear as a defendant in court, they would prefer
to have a jury of their peers rather than a judge and two magistrates or a judge alone decide their case.
However, the same people that make the argument against juries may criticise those who

world. We find ourselves lost for many minutes or possibly hours at a time on any particular app

doubt we have accomplished anything at all. A very smart man once said, "Time is money." If
that quote is true do we find ourselves in the twenty first century wasting money on pictures of

ProCon.org reports that 59% of students with this access use social networking sites to discuss
educational topics and 50% use the sites to talk about school assignments. After the student leaves
school grounds he or she is still required to complete various assignments or projects. With these
comes many questions or concerns on how the teacher may want a specific item completed, or
even maybe how to even start an assignment. Social networking and the ability to interact with
fellow teachers and students after school hours is crucial to the success of every student. There
truly is not enough time in each school day to cover or complete all work that is necessary. With
Facebook and our friends just a click away we enter in a world of more focused student centered
learning. Those self–driven students will seek our answers and solutions to any work assigned for
outside of the classroom. Collaborating and working with like–minded people will not only benefit
them in the classroom, but also be a crucial skill in the work force of our world. Social Networking
brings along a few negative but controllable aspects. There are countless stories about people of
all ages who have been affected in some way or another by cyber bulling. The Story of Megan Meier
was one that you will never forget. She hung herself in a closet because a certain boy

Argumentative Essay : Argumentative Writing
As long as humanity has differentiated view points, there will be the need for argument. Whether
the argument is about who will be the next leader of a free country or as simple as whether or not
you bleed AC Milan Rosso or Internazionale Azzurro in Milano, argument allows people to have
discussions while trying to prove each other wrong or convince someone to change their views.
Under the umbrella of arguing there is a very intelligent method to argue that is called
argumentative writing. With argumentative writing a person can put all of their ideas into an
organized, well developed paper that attracts and engages a reader. While most people prefer
arguing in person, one is susceptible to interruptions from the opposing side or as well as having
to think on the fly and keep their train of thought going while constantly countering what the
opposition is saying; but with argumentative writing one can freely express all their ideas without
opposition until a person is finished reading their paper. That being said, argumentative writing
can be looked at metaphorically like a dance. To explain, when you see another person at a club or
an event that you think is cute, you have to engage them in an icebreaking conversation. Then
when the house band or DJ starts playing you ask the person to dance. While dancing you have to
keep up with the beat and keep your partner actively engaged with the music. If you begin to slip up
or lose the beat, your partner can become disinterested

What Would A Satisfactory Moral Theory Be Like?
In James Rachels' book, The Elements of Moral Philosophy, he expresses ideas within the
concluding chapter, "What Would a Satisfactory Moral Theory be like?" that lay an silhouette of
every moral approach we have discussed so far and compounding it into a final discussion with a
couple of final contentions towards a comprehensive understanding of morality and the approaches
we can make as moral guides to make decisions that are virtuous for each class without exception.
Rachels' gives thoughtful perspective on all subjects that we have learned about and makes final
accumulations for the way we can decide to use these for our own benefit. While then expressing
the virtues we must value for ourselves to have a best plan, and the ways our choices can help

Our natural state within the universe when compared to the scale of history is extremely

of species compared to any other mammals is quite significant but yet completely detrimental to the
health of our universe. We must be able as humans to grasp these concepts and particularly build a
world better suited for future figures to give philosophical thoughts and aspects as the human race
continues to develop. There is a shortcoming with our behavior, as Rachels describes, that if an
action would help satisfy our own self–interest, than we see the most reason to perform such tasks.
This leaves us prone to being selfish and to sometimes hold interests out of other people's version of
acceptable behavior. Rachels signifies that all people do not have to follow any one true

Argumentative Essay
The function of an argumentative essay is to show that your assertion (opinion, theory, and
hypothesis) about some phenomenon or phenomena is correct or more truthful than others'. The art
of argumentation is not an easy skill to acquire. Many people might think that if one simply has an
opinion, one can argue it successfully, and these folks are always surprised when others don't agree
with them because their logic seems so correct. Argumentative writing is the act of forming reasons,
making inductions, drawing conclusions, and applying them to the case in discussion; the operation
of inferring propositions, not known or admitted as true, from facts or principles known, admitted, or
proved to be true. It clearly...show more content...
Inductive logic arrives at likely conclusions by counting up evidence, while deductive logic arrives at
necessary conclusions by examining the logical meanings of statements. According to Purdue
University English Profession Neil Gill, deductive arguments can be grouped into two categories: A
Rogerian argument considers several viewpoints and selects the best one, whereas a Toulmin
argument presents a single, linear argument (i.e., A therefore B) in support of a position. Fallacious
Fallacious arguments are logical–seeming arguments that are not valid. Unlike logical arguments,
fallacious arguments do not arrive at valid conclusions or inferences. There are literally dozens of
fallacious arguments you can commit; a fallacious argument style is one that commits one or more
fallacies frequently. For example, if a person in an argument persistently says, "the economy went up
this year, therefore the party in power caused the economy to improve," that person is engaging in
the "post hoc ergo propter hoc" fallacy, an invalid argument of the form "x happened, y happened,
therefore x caused y." Social Argumentation Styles
Argumentation can be looked at in terms of the way the interlocutors perceive each other. According

The continuous interaction between management and auditors would be a considerable risk without
regulated standards and is a leading incentive to maintain strong regulation of accounting. Tight
regulation of accounting standards is necessary to ensure shareholders and debt holders receive an
optimal amount of information to make an informed decision.
2.0 In favour of "free market" regulation:
2.1 Introduction:
The "free market" perspective on accounting regulation is the theory that demand and supply forces
should be allowed to freely operate so as to generate an optimal supply of information about the
entity. This approach would reduce the government's regulatory authority over accounting standards
and grant corporations with the power to decide which accounting methods best suit their businesses.
The aim of this paper will be to indicate and discuss the potential benefits to corporations of adopting
a free market approach to accounting regulation.
2.2 Information needs:
A reduction of regulation would witness organisations that do not produce adequate financial
information penalised by higher costs of capital. A lack of detailed information to supply debt
holders with would increase the risks associated with any finance to be obtained and therefore incur
higher interest rates on any loans. This would then encourage managers to produce the necessary
information in the financial statements to all users without the forces of

influencing the minds of young and old people to adopt the culture of the 'devil' which doesn't

Do TV Shows Like 16 and Pregnant Promote or Discourage Teenage Pregnancy?
Teenage pregnancy has become a major issue in today's society for our adolescents. This is a
major problem for all who are involved. It creates hurt and a struggle for on the parents, especially
for the mother (Gonchar and Schulten). Also for the parent(s) of the teenager this creates struggles
for them because more often than not, they end up with the load of caring and looking after the
child while the teenage parents are at school or out doing other things that teenagers do. Raising a
child as a teenager is not easy. Teen parents are more likely to struggle to deal with parenthood, and

The television show 16 and Pregnant was initially created to try to symbolize the hardship of being
a teenage parent (Taylor). The stories of these young girls are often times very similar being that
they have a miserable nine months of pregnancy just to give birth as a single mother, no longer with
the father of their child. This show displays the sorrow and struggle that the mother has in just the
first few weeks into being a new mother.
On the other hand, some view that these types of shows somewhat "glorify" the reality of having a
baby as a teenager. Both Teen Moms and 16 and Pregnant offer the young teenage girls that they
document great deals of money in order to record their pregnancy, birth giving, and first couple of
weeks of motherhood. This in itself, to some teenagers, shows that it isn't all that bad. Many teen
moms believe that they could possibly become one of the documented females if they end up in the
situation of being a teen parent and could earn money off of it and a little fifteen minutes of fame
(Henson). Also, they think that they could be featured in Teen Moms, the spinoff of 16 and
Pregnant. This would just introduce even more money to the teen. The show is not intentionally
trying to promote teenage pregnancy. This is just the viewpoint that some uneducated teenagers take
from watching it. This is definitely not the realistic and commonsensical way of viewing teenage
pregnancy.

Argumentative vs Informative Research

  • 1. Argumentative Vs Informative Research Do you know the difference between Argumentative and Informative Writing? Their is at lot of things that is difference. One thing is that an "argument" isn't just two people yelling at each other it's having different opinions on things argumentative essays are different from informative essays in the same way that opinions are different from facts. An argumentative essay is a essay that they have things for a text that that authors says and you like saying the reasons why you want to pick that side. In an argumentative text, you give reasons for doing something and that the reading must have agree or disagree in the essay.Anther reason is that the argumentative essay has a lot of quotes and in a informational essay there is not a loot of quotes Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Argumentative essays are very important because of their ability to help people argue in a mature manner. However, many people do not know how to successfully write an argumentative essay. Writing argumentative essays is easy once they are broken down into a few simple parts. These essays should be taken seriously and written with passion and facts. To write a successful argumentative essay, start off with a good hook, make claims that are backed by evidence, and then refute the opposing side's arguments. The first step in creating a successful argumentative essay is to write a powerful introduction. This includes a hook, background information, and your thesis. A good hook can include a funny anecdote, a shocking fact, or an inspiring quote. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Argumentative Essays Failure is the step towards success. Do you agree? It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled. Failure often times leads a person to feel helpless, disappointed and depressed. However, one should not allow this to set them back in trying to achieve the ultimate aim one has set out to do. Failure in the beginning can often be a powerful incentive to reassess one's position in wanting to achieve the particular aims; to analyse whether the purpose is worth the trouble the person has to undergo and the whether the obstacles are surmountable. Practical and...show more content... Another disadvantage of being an only is that he lacks companionship. He has no brother or sister to confide in. Growing up as an only child can be very lonely. If you have siblings you will have to share everything, so you get less; but you also get less of the bad things. Siblings can support and comfort each in times of trouble. The elder siblings learn to care for the younger ones and the younger ones learn to respect their elder siblings and have someone to look up to besides their parents. You are more balanced person than an only child. Another advantage of having siblings is that your parents' attention is divided among your siblings. As a result, there is less pressure on you to perform well, be it academically or in other areas. Having siblings also means that you have companionship, the joy of caring and sharing, and security. I, personally, am happy that I am not an only child. Students should not take up part time jobs. Discuss. Nowadays, students love to have part–time jobs. Their parents approve it easily as they are said to gain experience from working. However, having a job is a big responsibility for a student. Before, teenagers at their age were working to help their family because of poverty. Nevertheless, they were actually eager to study and learn at school for their future. It was not the same as the teenagers nowadays where they are more likely competing to each other to have a job. Most of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Argumentative Essay : My Writing Experience This spring semester while enrolled in Professor Hazleton course I was able to have a much better writing experience than the one I had in the fall semester. During the fall semester I struggled deeply with essays, making no higher than a C at times. I was a new incoming freshmen with no experience in college once at all and by coming from a school that never really required me to write any type of essays I was sure to have a rough start. Yet, this semester was different I felt more confident while writing my papers. Argumentative type essays are actually pretty fun to write because you are able to pick the topic of your choice and that really helps one feel like he actually knows what he is talking about. I have written 4 argumentative type essays throughout the course and have noticed my writing still needs work. Although I still have a long while to go I have developed a few strengthens during the course. I am now good at working with syllogism in order to make a good enthymeme thesis and now have good skills in providing evidence, but even though I have made process I still need work in areas like avoid first person and backing up my claims all the way through. Although, I have more weaknesses than strengths my effectiveness towards using a syllogism to create an enthymeme thesis has really came a long way for me. It came in handy in my "More Than Just One Language" paper where my professor made a comment stating that I had a very good thesis in substance. To develop Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Examples Of Argumentative Essay Argumentative essay presents a point of view about something and explains the reasons in order to win readers' agreement. It is built around a specific statement (or main premise) that is debatable within the field in which students are studying. In other words, at the center of an argumentative essay is a statement with which readers may disagree. The argumentative essay will need to support that statement in a manner that convinces the readers of its truth. It mainly strives to convince the reader of the writer's point of view, using reasonable and ethical methods .The process of argument composition varies from writer to writer, most writers follow these three stages: forming an argument, which can consist of discovering a motive for writing and identifying an audience to address, discovering and sharpening a position, and developing an appropriate style; supporting the argument; and reviewing the argument, which can include considering the image projected by argument, making substantial additions or deletions to a first draft, and adding an introduction and conclusion (Cheng and Chen 2009, Day,1997, Liu,2005,Mayberry,2009)....show more content... Ranging from a memorial of a popular United States president from a loved one of a family, memorials have generally served as a purpose of remembrance from the past of said event. The purpose of the memorial is usually associated with a positive, uplifting feeling towards the deceased individual or past event. While this is more or less simply defining what memorials are for, what is the meaning behind them? What purpose do they serve besides the simplicity that they are? Important messages from a few varied sources will give a differing viewpoint on memorials from one to another. The first thought of memorials is the simple, generic...show more content... Memorials are meant to be striking in the sense that you will notice said memorial and donate some attention to it. The views of these see this attention capturing as exceedingly high for some purposes. Some memorials are outstanding in their craftsmanship and aesthetics. This makes people wonder what could be lurking inside the memorial, or what is near that memorial. What we've got here is a formula, striking looks of the monument is almost guaranteed to attract some form of attention. According to Source G, the analogy of tainting the planet with specific memorials are ridiculous, "I imagined taking a knife and cutting into the earth, opening it up, an initial violence and pain that in time would heal. The grass would grow back, but the initial cut would remain a pure flat surface in the earth with a polished, mirrored surface, much like the surface on a geode when you cut it and polish the edge. The need for the names to be on the memorial would become the memorial; there was no need to embellish the design further. The people and their names would allow everyone to respond and remember. The ideals of such nonsensical placements of the memorials are just irritable at the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The dictionary defines a vegetarian as "A person who does not eat meat, and sometimes other animal products, especially for moral, religious or health reasons" ("Vegetarian Definition"). Practicing a religion that advocates vegetarianism is one of many reasons some people follow a vegetarian diet. A senior at Liberty–Benton High School who considers herself a pescatarian, a person whose only meat source is fish and seafood, promotes others to join in on a diet like hers. The Animal Welfare Act has authority over animals in laboratories, animal exhibitors, dealers who sell animals to research laboratories, dog and cat breeders, animal carriers, intermediate handlers, circuses, zoos, puppy roadside menageries, mills, and transporters of animals. Under the Act, people must provide their animals with adequate care and treatment in the areas of housing, handling, sanitation, nutrition, water, veterinary care, and protection from extreme weather and temperatures (Animal Welfare Act). People that disobey the Act can receive punishments such as revoked license, imprisonment, or a fine. Over one million birds and mammals are violently killed every hour in the United States, and an estimated 150 billion animals per year are murdered worldwide (Arora). Animal slaughterhouses for large food companies are known for animal cruelty and vegetarians recognize this. Many vegetarians also boycott places like SeaWorld who keep wild animals locked in cages. • 8. The Importance Of Writing An Argumentative Essay As a student in a beginning English class some elements may seem difficult at the beginning but with practice they become long lasting skills. Writing an argumentative is not an easy task there is a lot of elements that have to come together to create a successful essay but as many other things, it requires constant practice and effort. At the start of this course I wasn't a very good writer myself, and I can see the huge improvement this course made by looking at my first argumentative essay. I was able to identify and apply the requisites of a good argument essay. A well thought structure, reliable evidence, and a counterargument are three essential components of argumentative writing. The structure of an essay is the foundation to a good argumentative paper. Throughout this course I learned the importance of having an essay structure, before I started this class I didn't have a very clear vision of how to correctly format my essay. In my diagnostic essay, which was the first one I wrote for English 1302, had five paragraphs. That is considered a standard structure of many essays but it is more of a skeleton. Looking back at that essay I see how poor my introduction was, I did not even have a clear thesis. One only thing even close to one that I could spot was, "The "millennials," people born in the last two decades of the 20th century, are failing to reflect Rich's model for a good education." It merely addresses the topic in a simple way. It did not serve the purpose a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The main reason behind my decision to take this course is because I thought it would better prepare me for college. This argumentative essay was one of the hardest essay that I have written. Daniel adds that, "'Americans who take part in political activities on social networking sites also tend to be highly active in other areas of political or civic life'" (29), which insinuates that people rely on social media more today than we have in the past". This was one of my better examples because I further explain and analyze the quote in my voice instead of just ending the sentence after the quote. One of my poor examples is, "Many people who suffer from depression care a lot about what others think about them. That is why many of those people tend to turn to social media as an outlet to express their feelings". I made a bold statement and did not back up what I said with my voice I just ended that sentence and moved on. It is a right fiercely fought for, and fiercely defended at those times when its powers have been seen to be under threat – as those backing reforms are finding. The tradition of being "tried by a jury of ones peers" probably has its origins in Anglo Saxon custom, which dictated that an accused man could be acquitted if enough people came forward to swear his innocence. • 12. Argumentative Essay : Argumentative Writing As long as humanity has differentiated view points, there will be the need for argument. Whether the argument is about who will be the next leader of a free country or as simple as whether or not you bleed AC Milan Rosso or Internazionale Azzurro in Milano, argument allows people to have discussions while trying to prove each other wrong or convince someone to change their views. Under the umbrella of arguing there is a very intelligent method to argue that is called argumentative writing. With argumentative writing a person can put all of their ideas into an organized, well developed paper that attracts and engages a reader. While most people prefer arguing in person, one is susceptible to interruptions from the opposing side or as well as having to think on the fly and keep their train of thought going while constantly countering what the opposition is saying; but with argumentative writing one can freely express all their ideas without opposition until a person is finished reading their paper. That being said, argumentative writing can be looked at metaphorically like a dance. To explain, when you see another person at a club or an event that you think is cute, you have to engage them in an icebreaking conversation. Then when the house band or DJ starts playing you ask the person to dance. While dancing you have to keep up with the beat and keep your partner actively engaged with the music. If you begin to slip up or lose the beat, your partner can become disinterested Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Argumentative Essay Argumentative Essay The function of an argumentative essay is to show that your assertion (opinion, theory, and hypothesis) about some phenomenon or phenomena is correct or more truthful than others'. The art of argumentation is not an easy skill to acquire. Many people might think that if one simply has an opinion, one can argue it successfully, and these folks are always surprised when others don't agree with them because their logic seems so correct. Inductive logic arrives at likely conclusions by counting up evidence, while deductive logic arrives at necessary conclusions by examining the logical meanings of statements. According to Purdue University English Profession Neil Gill, deductive arguments can be grouped into two categories: A Rogerian argument considers several viewpoints and selects the best one, whereas a Toulmin argument presents a single, linear argument (i.e., A therefore B) in support of a position. Fallacious Fallacious arguments are logical–seeming arguments that are not valid. Unlike logical arguments, fallacious arguments do not arrive at valid conclusions or inferences. There are literally dozens of fallacious arguments you can commit; a fallacious argument style is one that commits one or more fallacies frequently. For example, if a person in an argument persistently says, "the economy went up this year, therefore the party in power caused the economy to improve," that person is engaging in the "post hoc ergo propter hoc" fallacy, an invalid argument of the form "x happened, y happened, therefore x caused y." This approach would reduce the government's regulatory authority over accounting standards and grant corporations with the power to decide which accounting methods best suit their businesses. The aim of this paper will be to indicate and discuss the potential benefits to corporations of adopting a free market approach to accounting regulation. 2.2 Information needs: A reduction of regulation would witness organisations that do not produce adequate financial information penalised by higher costs of capital. The stories of these young girls are often times very similar being that they have a miserable nine months of pregnancy just to give birth as a single mother, no longer with the father of their child. Also, they think that they could be featured in Teen Moms, the spinoff of 16 and Pregnant. This would just introduce even more money to the teen. The show is not intentionally trying to promote teenage pregnancy. This is just the viewpoint that some uneducated teenagers take from watching it. This is definitely not the realistic and commonsensical way of viewing teenage pregnancy. In Get more content on HelpWriting.net
