Retec Romania was founded in 1995 based on a great combination: Dutch expertise and
knowhow plus West European equipment with local skilled personnel.
13 years ago, Retec became Member of Alewijnse Group – a Dutch company with more
than 100 years experience in the maritime / naval electrical field. Developing very quickly, ARR
reached a significant level with an experience of approximately 300 projects, offering a full range of
electrical services from engineering to commissioning and after sales, complete turnkey projects for
the electrical market, in various maritime market segments.

Over the years ARR became one of the top electrical installers not only for Romanian
Maritime Industry but also Internationally by expanding our activity on international markets like
Vietnam, Turkey, Holland, Ukraine, Qatar and other countries. The strategy and rigorous efforts we
based our activity on has proven our experience, flexibility, professionalism and knowledge.

Engineering is the essence of our business. Our key services onsite and offsite are
based on the complete design process, from Conceptual Design to "As built" drawings:
 Design engineering for low voltage installations;
 Switchboards for marine and industry in low voltage installations;
 One line diagram, as well as short circuit calculation and Load balance;
 E.C.R. desks, cargo control, bridge desk;

5. Engineering
We are permanently developing design and technical solutions, also in choice of
materials, to the highest standards in order to ensure a long operational lifetime of our products
with quality certificates of GERMANISCHER Lloyd, Bureau VERITAS, Det Norske VERITAS or
Lloyd’s.
Following the market demands, we continue to improve our engineering, as we intend
to bring on the market the most attractive concept of detailed electrical engineering, where
knowledge and innovation are the key triggers for a competitive advantage. Our continuous
search for innovative engineering concepts will finally bring more added value to our customers
and help us build a long term relationship with them.

6. Engineering
One of our new directions in engineering procedures is The Energy
platform concept, using integrated specialized software's for design:
1. EPLAN - P8  The new standard of design using EPLAN P8 will bring far
more advantages such as: a faster work flow, almost ZERO
engineering mistakes due to much more automation implemented
in the engineering process.
2. CADMATIC  3D drawing exported from Cadmatic into AutoCad representing
all major cable trays on this particularly vessel. The drawing can
be used to create the Nodal Network in CMPIC by base of blocks /
nodes and 3D poly lines / segments on the cable trays.
 CMPIC – Cable Management Software, allows to manage /
3. CMPIC routed both the vast majority of cables. Once a cable is routed,
CMPIC will show the “path” of the cable, start point / end point,
also the percentage fill is shown on each segment or penetration.

7. Automation & Innovation
ARR’s Automation & Innovation Department offers dedicated solutions for, but not only:
 Complete ship automation where all systems for control, alarm, monitoring and information needs
are integrated;
 Complete package of electrical propulsion systems, starting with design and ending with
comissioning and service.

8. Automation & Innovation
In order to deliver the best solution to the customer needs, ARR’s Automation & Innovation
Department uses Rockwell & Siemens PLCs, PRAXIS Automation Systems and VACON Frequency
Drives.
• Alarm Monitoring System (AMS) – centralizes alarms on
board for easy diagnostic of ship systems.
• Power Management System (PMS) – integrates generators
and consumers on board into a logic system and makes
decisions of starting/stopping of generators based on necessary
power consumption, without human intervention
• STINGRAY Shore Supply Converter – can be connected
worldwide on shore, to all types of common voltages and
frequencies, invariable of the type of electrical supply available,
all this with an environmentally responsible twist: generators will
not be needed during port operations - but can be used in parallel
with the Stingray - and the entire vessel will be provided with the
needed voltage.

9. Production
ARR has developed a professional Panel Building Workshop in which are built a wide range of
switchboards and panels to serve various demanding clients and complex projects.

10. Production
ARR produce and deliver various:
 Main and secondary cable trays
 Foundations for electrical equipment
 Watertight and classic cable passages
 Secondary electrical steelwork
made according to customer’s specifications and execution
documentation.
Cable trays can be made by different types: flat-
profile, trapezium-profile, U-profile, Z-profile, sandblasted,
primer coated, hot-dip galvanized or black only. For each
and every cable tray type ARR can deliver horizontal and
vertical cable tray elbows (curves).

11. Installing
ARR Installing team provides a great contribution to
the overall company image and large portfolio.
ARR combined installing package:
- Delivery and mounting of electrical steelwork (main and
secondary cable trays, electrical equipment foundations, etc.)
- Art of Cabling - Cable routing / mounting / pulling
- Closing penetrations
- Connections
- Cable tests (CW, FO, CAT, HV).
All works are based on top quality high standards and apply to all complexity levels,
depending on vessel’s type. Our successful performances have been certified by well known
classification societies such as: DNV, GL, LRS, ABS, BV, RMRS, etc.
