MTFT Fast Facts <ul><li>Assist high school students with their transition from school to work or college </li></ul><ul><li>Partnered with the Murrieta Valley Unified School District in 2006 </li></ul><ul><li>Completed the mentoring session for 2007 at Warm Springs Middle School </li></ul><ul><li>Announced partnership with Oak Grove Center for Education & the Arts </li></ul><ul><li>Mentored youth at Murrieta Valley, and Shivela Middle School campuses </li></ul>

MTFT Purpose <ul><li>To address the pressures youth encounter today due to lack of a firm foundation, guidance and structure. </li></ul><ul><li>To instill positive, life-changing experiences through mentoring and be a positive, proactive invention tool for youth and their families. </li></ul><ul><li>To serve at-risk, disadvantaged, and underserved youth ages 9-18. </li></ul><ul><li>Since the summer of 2005, our organization has served over 400 youth and we continue to grow annually. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Mission <ul><li>To improve the ethical behavior of youth within a structured learning environment that promotes and builds excellence. We envision a community of ethical, empowered and well-educated youth. </li></ul>

April <ul><li>50 Community Youths Served </li></ul><ul><li>Sports Represented: baseball, football, basketball </li></ul><ul><li>Each professional player gave his bio and history with sports </li></ul><ul><li>Youths received batting practice, speed and agility training, and physical fitness instruction </li></ul>

July <ul><li>Keynote Speaker: Leonard Robinson, Chief Deputy Director, Dept of Toxic Substances Control </li></ul><ul><li>Educated community residents about water-saving measures and technology to conserve California’s most important natural resource </li></ul><ul><li>~100 participants enjoyed free food, giveaways and drawings, informational packets for adults, and jumpers, snow cones, and games for children </li></ul>

November <ul><li>~60 student models in 3 categories: elementary, middle, and high school </li></ul><ul><li>1 trophy/prize winner in each category </li></ul><ul><li>All student models received gift certificates and kept outfits modeled </li></ul><ul><li>Partnered with Oak Grove Center for Education & the Arts </li></ul><ul><li>Special costumes provided by well-known dressmaker Tifeni Whittington </li></ul>
