This longitudinal study of TSH measurements in pregnancy was based on a cohort of 343 pregnant patients from Hong Kong . Exclusion criteria were for; Preexisting thyroid disease, Hyperemesis gravidarum Trophoblastic disease And preeclampsia. However, since Hong Kong is known to be an area of mild iodine deficiency and antibody-positive patients were not excluded the calculated 95% confidence limits from this study are likely to be conservative estimates. The TSH range for non-pregnant women, shown in green was 0.4 to 3.5. As with other studies, during the first trimester TSH reference range was lower with an upper limit of 2.3 a lower limit of 0.03.
