What is kickstART?
kickstART is a new art auction concept developed by In4Art with the aim to
guide some of the most talented young artists in the Netherlands in their
career development. By guiding, we mean selected artists have received
months of training, coaching and professional support before they rise the
stage. kickstART consists of viewing days and an auction event where all
artists will pitch their vision and work. After the pitches the works will be
put to auction by esteemed auctioneer Jop Ubbens.
Why?
Because at In4Art we believe that artists who develop entrepreneurial and
professional skills and get the opportunity to launch themselves to buyers
and professionals have a higher chance of achieving success. For this
purpose, we combine traditional elements from art (exhibition and
auction) with elements from the startup incubation world (investor
pitching, masterclasses and crowdfunding).

kickstART is a concept where pitching meets auction and translates insights
from the business incubation and start-up world towards artists career
development. It is the first of its kind.

20.  CONDITIONS OF BUYING AT kickstART II
 Estimates
Estimates are based on the prices recently paid for similar works in terms of size or material.
 Bidding in Person
If you wish to bid in the salesroom you must register for a numbered bidding paddle by sending an
email to info@in4art.eu . Subject to availability you are invited to attend the auction.
 Written Bids
You can find a Written Bid Form at the back of this catalogue and at In4Art Project Space during the
viewing days. We must receive your completed Written Bid Form before the start of the auction.
 Reserves
All lots are subject to a reserve. The reserve cannot be more than €350 euro for an individual lot. The
reserve is set by the artist (seller) and is to protects him/her from selling work for to low a price.
 Bidding
The auctioneer accepts bids from: a) bidders in the salesroom; b) written bids left with us by a bidder
before the auction
 Bid Increments
Bidding generally starts below the low estimate and increases in steps. The auctioneer will decide at
his or her sole option where the bidding should start and the bid increments.
 Taxes
The successful bidder is responsible for any applicable taxes. On the lots a VAT percentage of 6% is
applicable.
 Premium
There is no premium applicable on the sale. The successful bid + 6% VAT equals the total price. All
proceedings will go to the selling artist directly.
 How to Pay
Immediately following the auction, you must fill out a purchase form. The artist who sold the
work will contact the buyer after the auction to complete payment.
 Transferring Ownership
Lots shall be taken by the buyer directly after the auction unless decided otherwise between the
buyer and seller (artist)
 Transport/Storage
If you prefer to store the lot or arrange dedicated transport this can be arranged by In4Art in
agreeance with the seller (artist). All applicable costs for transport are for the buyer.
 Recordings
We may videotape and photograph the opening, viewing days and auction. We will keep any personal
information confidential.
