This document discusses using experiential learning to help liberal arts students determine career paths. It notes that liberal arts students often do not plan for careers or obtain internships. The goals are to challenge career centers to develop programs for career exploration and discuss how experiential learning can assist liberal arts students. What is a Liberal Arts Education?
According to the Association of American Colleges and Universities:
“Liberal Education is an approach to learning that empowers individuals and prepares
them to deal with complexity, diversity, and change. It provides students with broad
knowledge of the wider world (e.g. science, culture, and society) as well as in-depth study
in a specific area of interest”
