The Music 'N' Dance Academy in Pitampura, Delhi has been operating since 2007, training over 500 students of which over 300 have received certifications. The academy specializes in classical dance forms like Kathak and Bharatnatyam as well as other styles like ballet, bollywood, hip-hop and contemporary. It also offers instrumental music courses and Indian classical singing. Small class sizes and an experienced staff ensure individualized attention. Students have opportunities to showcase their skills through annual performances and competitions. Graduates have gone on to teach dance and perform professionally. #MusicnDanceAcademy: Academy came into being since 2007. The journey since then has
been very fruitful .More than 500 students have been trained More than 300 students have
receive certifications. The founder was Mrs. Gurmeet Malhotra. There is currently only one
centre in Pitampura, Delhi but expansion to other areas is also on our mind.
#LOCALTURNON: What does your Music / Dance Center offer to students?
#MusicnDanceAcademy: Music n Dance Academy specializes in Classical Dance Forms such
as Kathak, Bharatnatyam etc. Besides Classical Dance we also provide professional training
for other dance forms like : Ballet, Bollywood, Hip-hop, Contemporary, Bhangra etc. We also
offer course for Instrumental Music like Guitar, Drums, Dholak, Tabla, Keyboard etc. Indian
Classical Singing is also taught at our Institute.
In addition to Music and Dance we also have hobby courses like Art and Craft, Drawing,
English Language, Theatre and Chess. We also make learning fun. Students have difficulty in
Maths are guided through CueMath classes.

individual attention. Infrastructure is ideal for such courses. Discipline is maintained in

teaching style gives individual attention / proper knowledge to students ?
#MusicnDanceAcademy: Yes, That’s the core of our teaching philosophy. We firmly believe
that Individual attention is the key to a faster, enriched learning and thus we make sure that
none of our classes are overcrowded. We cap the number of students to ensure we
maintain the right teacher-student ratio so that each & every child gets proper Knowledge.
We always have an attendant in the class to maintain the dignity of the class. If the teacher
is knowledgeable students will automatically benefit.
Yearly exams are conducted, recognised certificates are provided. Proper theory and
practical knowledge is provided. Students are encouraged to participate at various state and

3. national level competitions. This make the concept very clear to each and every student and
they also gain confidence by facing these challenges.

there a specific number of years in experience that you have in your teachers
etc?
#MusicnDanceAcademy: The staff is selected on the basis of the knowledge they possess.
Their background both personal and professional is duly verified. Yes, the number of years
of experience also count but more important is the attitude, the warmth and ability to
connect with people around. A conducive learning environment can only be created if the
people in the environment are supportive and positive.
#LOCALTURNON: Do your students get chance to test their skills / enhance
their class-room learning in the real world ?

real world. From a mandatory participation in our annual festival to taking part in Naitonal
Level Competition, regional / state level events we not only encourage our students but also
support them. There are special batches and extra hours that our teachers put in when the
occasion demands it. We take our reputation very seriously and do all we can to promote
the talent in our students.

passed out earlier / are currently enrolled) have done the school proud?
#MusicnDanceAcademy: Students of Music N Dance Academy have received recognitions at
many state level and national level competitions. The students who have completed their
diploma are taking up workshops at various schools. Students have also been absorbed in
their respective schools as dance teachers. Senior students choreograph for various cultural
and corporate events and are professionals now.

qualification that the students can hope to get after completing the studies
from your school? Is the certification in-house or through accreditation to
established University / Course etc?
#MusicnDanceAcademy: Our Academy is affiliated to Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad
University for Classical Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music and Art & Craft Drawing.
Rock School certificates are also provided for Instrumental Music.

#MusicnDanceAcademy: The future is unpredictable. Our focus has always been on quality
of trainings that we provide to our students. The quality that comes from years of
experience, our carefully selected staff and the holistic learning environment that we
provide our students at the Academy. We will never compromise on these principles.
We Just want to keep doing the work for the benefit of our students and the society as a
whole. Yes, there are expansion plans in mind but we would like to take that step once we
are confident that an expanded reach will further the cause that we believe in and also be
able to maintain the high standards that we have set for ourselves.
