4. ONCE UPON A TIME...ONCE UPON A TIME...
...there lived 4 fishermen. One unfortunate
day, they got lost at sea and landed on an
unknown island. They were left with nothing
but fishing nets and cold storage boxes.
There is only one way to get back home.
They have to go fishing and divide the
catch equally among the villagers of the
island. The villagers will drop the fishermen
as many islands ahead as the number of
fish each one receives.
You will play the role of fishermen and
go adventuring out at sea.
Happy Fishing!
Use your storytelling skills here! Tell this story with as much excitement and
emotion as possible. When children are drawn into the story, they will enjoy
the game even more!
5. PREPARE THE FISHING NETSPREPARE THE FISHING NETS
Who wins?
The player who reaches the home island first wins!
Who moves first?
The youngest player moves first. Others move
in a clockwise direction from her.
As a parent or teacher, if you’re playing with the children, offer them actual
competition. Don’t just let them win! It will be much more fun and will help them
practice better if you engage in the game too!
Take out the gameboard.
Place the stack of fishing cards face down next to the
edge of the board.
Next, each player will select their fisherman pawn and
place it on the first island marked with hut.

6. THE FIRST MOVETHE FIRST MOVE
The first player will start the game by picking
the topmost card from the stack of fishing
cards. The number on the card is the number
of fish she catches.Suppose she gets 14.
She will now place her fishing card face up, next to the stack. This
becomes the fishing card discard pile.
Now, the player has to divide the fishes
equally among the villagers. The number on
the island shows the number of villagers
living there. So the player has to divide 14
fishes among 3 villagers.

7. Now perform division. 14 fishes divided among 3 villagers means 4 fish per
villager. And there are 2 to spare. So 2 are remainder fishes that she can
keep with her for future moves as STORED FISH.
Since each villager received 4 fishes, they will take the player 4 islands ahead
Storing more fish than the remainder is not allowed in a single turn.

In this way, all the players will take turns and move ahead on the board.
If you do not give fish to the villagers (quotient is 0), then you do not
get to move. Storing more fish than the remainder is not allowed in a
single turn.
8. SPECIAL: THE DEVELOPED ISLANDSSPECIAL: THE DEVELOPED ISLANDS
These are lush green islands connected by ONE-WAY
BRIDGES.
When a player lands on a Town Island, she will cross the
bridge from the source island and place her pawn on the
destination island.
The Town Islands
No player will move from the destination island to the source island.
The Urban Islands
Say a player lands on an island with a green helicopter, you
can take a one-way helicopter ride to the destination island.
Urban Islands exist in pairs. The island with a helicopter is the
source island and the one with an empty helipad is the
destination island. There are two pairs of Urban Islands
- green and yellow. The Town Islands
9. SPECIAL: THE SAVAGE ISLANDSSPECIAL: THE SAVAGE ISLANDS
Say that a player lands on a red island. Beware!
These are the Savage Islands.
When a player lands on a Savage Island,
the tribal people send them 5 islands
back. So move your pawn back 5 steps.
On her next turn, she will follow the normal
procedure of fishing and distribution and move
ahead from there.
10. THE STORED FISH STRATEGYTHE STORED FISH STRATEGY
You can use the stored fishes in any turn during the game.
The STORED FISH can be used to move some islands ahead or escape the
Savage Islands.
or
Now 4 divided by 5 is 0. So she can add 4
fish in her stored fish basket and continue to
stay there.
She can add the 7 STORED FISHES to the 4
fishes she caught in this turn. That makes a
total of 11 fishes. She will give 2 fish to each
villager and store 1 fish. She can now move
ahead by 2 islands.
