- Hello, my name is Fawna and TODAY I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT THE DIFFERENT BODY SYSTEMS THAT WORK TOGETHER TO ALLOW OUR BODYS TO FUNCTION.
- The circulatory, respiratory, digestive, systems play key roles in moving materials in your body. Oxygen, water, and food are essentail materials necessary for survival of cells. Carbon dioxide and other cell wastes are the materials that a cell must get rid of. Your muscular system and your skeletal system make up your muscles and your bones which work together to make your body move. The nervous and the endocrine system work together to control body functions. Lets take a closer look at these 7 systems and their interactions.
- Your digestive system helps to break down foods into sugars and other nutrient molecules that your body can use. A nutrient is a substance that you get from food and that your body needs to carry out processes, such as contracting muscles.
- After your respiratory system takes in oxygen through your lungs, your circulatory system delivers it to your cells. The circulatory system is able to deliver nutrients to all the cells in your body as well.
- When you breathe in, that breath of air goes into your lungs, which are part of your respiratory system. Breathing also depends on your muscular system because muscles in your chest cause your chest area to expand and compress. These changes make air move in and out of your lungs.
- All of your bodys movements happen as a result of the interactions between your body systems. Muscles and bone work together to make your body move. Your muscular system is made up of all the muscles in your body. Muscles contract and relax.
- Your skeletal system, or your skeleton, includes all the bones in your body. Skeletal muscles are attached to the bones of your skeleton and provide the force that moves your bones.
- To function properly, each part of your body must be able to communicate with other parts of your body. Every action you make is controlled by the nervous sytem, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
- Some messages in your body are sent by chemical signals that are produced by the endocrine system. This system is made up of organs called glands that release chemical signals directly into the bloodstream. These chemical signals are called hormones.
