12. Candidate Feedback Senior Investment Consultant, Palama Investments: “ Dear Joanne. Even the best of people need a pat on their shoulder to assure them that they are still on the right track. Thank you for restoring my confidence and allowing me to believe in my strengths once more. Yours is not a normal interview that puts one in a panic and ends up omitting the important facts, but a calming office environment that relaxes and allows one to be themselves and explore their best. Thank you and keep on doing what you do best!” Trainee Client Service Executive, AC Nielsen: “ Hey Marie, hope this mail finds you well! Day three at AC Nielsen and it has been nothing short of a fantastic experience. As I sit here studying for part of my training program I look and listen to the others – I get this nervous / happy / panicky / anxious and excited feelings all at once! Everything happening around me makes me realize that a wonderful opportunity has been given to me; I hope and plan to do it proud! I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you very much for everything you did from your side; the hard work, the kind word, the inspiration and the confidence you had in me. To a certain degree I know you were just doing your job, however, I think you do your company’s image proud with the way you handled everything. It did not go unnoticed. Again, thank you so much, may all your goals be met and the rest of your year bring many great opportunities and blessings. With gratitude. “ Executive H.R. Manager: Western Cape, Corporate company: ” Hello Sean. I hope that you are keeping well. I have been wanting to do this for a while but just never got around to it. I would like to thank you for the way you dealt with my CV and in attempting to help me find suitable employment back in South Africa, it was a tough road and I met with many recruitment agencies and I can honestly say I was not happy with the service that they provided to me as a candidate. I hereby wish to thank you for your professionalism, it was much appreciated. Regards.”

14. What the International HR World has to say about Video based recruitment… Leading international HR consultant Dr John Sullivan. 02 July 2009 Video interviews will have the biggest impact on recruitment: Sullivan Forget social networking and blogging, video interviewing will have the biggest impact on recruitment of any new technology , argues leading international HR consultant Dr John Sullivan. He says the move to video interviewing is finally becoming widespread in the US and Europe and is starting to be seen as a necessity rather than a "nice to have" by leading employers. Not only is video interviewing a major cost saver, says Sullivan, it speeds up time to fill vacancies , reduces interview drop out rates and vastly improves the candidate experience. In addition, the "interview from anywhere" concept opens the possibility that recruitment companies and employers could outsource the entire shortlisting process to lower-cost offshore locations. "Unlike telephone interviews, facial expressions and body language can be readily seen, something that hiring managers rate as a “must-have” feature," he says. Sullivan says hundreds of major employers including HP, Google, Rio Tinto, E*Trade, Whirlpool and Pepsico are now using video interviewing , and usage patterns are climbing at a significant pace. “… within a few years the 'interview from anywhere' approach will become the standard practice for all but final hiring interviews," Sullivan says in a recent article. Besides being cheaper, faster and more efficient, Sullivan argues that video interviewing broadens the potential candidate pool by making it possible to easily interview candidates from outside a company's local area.
