2. Initial ideas.
✤ This year we will take part in an extended project task. We can basically create anything we want that
is media related.
My idea for my project is to make a fashion magazine. I Will aim to make it as professional looking as
possible. I want to learn how to make a professional looking set up for the magazine and also to improve
my writing skills. One of the things i would find out and research into is the typical price for a fashion
magazine, and also what sort of articles consumers would like to read. This idea really interests me as
the journalism industry is what i aspire to be a part of, after completing the necessary degree at
university. Some of the problems i could face with this idea is the size of the project. i am not yet sure
whether i would be able to have time to complete a full industry size magazine or whether i would be
better of making a partially completed magazine with all its essential features. I will measure the success
of my magazine by comparing my project to the magazine i created at GCSE standard.

3. Development.
✤ So far my idea has developed more in ways in which my ideas have
expended. So far i have decided upon defiantly creating a fashion
based magazine. It will be more upper class clothes meet high street
prices, the perfect magazine for this current financial climate, where
money is tight..”Look magazine meets Vogue”. I’ve decided on the
name of my magazine, vanità, which is vanity in italian. Im going to
incorporate photo-shoots also into my magazine and am currently
coming up with possible themes and ideas for the photo-shoots.

5. What am i going to
do next?
✤ The next step in my project is to get started doing some test shots of
possible models and to start writing my pieces for my magazine. Im
planing to write a memoir to the late Alexander McQueen, and to also
write a piece titled, What is beauty? I will also be doing small
segments an whats new this season and there will be a section on
whats hot on the high street. I am also going to start getting a
wardrobe together for my fashion shoot which will consist of high
street clothes. I may also include a small hair and beauty segment in
my piece but depending on time I'm not sure whether i will do this or
not. Im not going to have time to complete a whole entire magazine
but i will fit in as much as i possibly can in the time we have been
given.
