Education, communication and (old/new) media  Communication is needed to  share learning goals/‘pedagogical contract’  present and discuss knowledge  coordinate the teaching/learning process  All available communication media/technologies tested and adopted within education – f2f and distance  press, photo, cinema, tel, radio, tv…
  • 3. eLearning as a context vs. as a strategy  “The use of new multimedia technologies and the Internet to improve the quality of learning by facilitating access to resources and services as well as remote exchanges and collaboration” (CEC 2001: 2).  Context  In the information/knowledge society every learning is eLearning  = ICTs are everywhere in the «Natural history» of our knowledge  Strategy  Some ICTs can be integrated within our teaching/learning practices  = ICTs enter the echological system of education
