4. John 20:1-9
Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene
went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw
that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the
other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them,
“They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and
we do not know where they have laid Him.”
5. John 20:1-9
Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and
were going to the tomb. So they both ran together, and
the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb
first. And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the
linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in. Then Simon
Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and
he saw the linen cloths lying there, and the handkerchief
that had been around His head, not lying with the linen
cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.
6. John 20:1-9
Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first,
went in also; and he saw and believed. 9
For as yet
they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise
again from the dead.
7. - Which is the first day of the week? Sunday

- Were Jesus words to the Pharisees fulfilled?
9. - Why was it necessary that Jesus
rise again from the dead?
- Where was Jesus while his body lay
in the tomb?
10. 1 Peter 3:18-20a
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for
the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to
death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After
being made alive, he went and made proclamation to
the imprisoned spirits— to those who were
disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in
the days of Noah,
11. - Did Jesus preach the good news of the grace of God
to those who died before him?
- How can the spirits be imprisoned?

and be found in Him, not having my own
righteousness, which is from the law, but that which
is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is
from God by faith; that I may know Him and the
power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His
sufferings, being conformed to His death
14. - Is faith important?
- What should we have our faith upon? Christ
- What the disciples and Mary did
when they didn’t find Jesus?
15. John 20:10-18
Then the disciples went back to where they were
staying. Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As
she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw
two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had
been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”
“They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t
know where they have put him.” At this, she turned
around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not
realize that it was Jesus. He asked her, “Woman, why
are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”
16. John 20:10-18
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you
have carried him away, tell me where you have put
him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic,
“Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”). Jesus said, “Do
not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the
Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am
ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God
and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went to the
disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And
she told them that he had said these things to her.
17. - Why Mary Magdalene didn’t recognize Jesus?
- Was she so distraught
that she got him confused
with the gardener?
- Why couldn’t she touch him?
- Could Jesus be right in front of us
and not being able to recognize him?
- Who else did Jesus appear to?
18. Luke 24:13-16, 31
Now that same day two of them were going to a
village called Emmaus, about seven miles from
Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about
everything that had happened. As they talked and
discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself
came up and walked along with them; but they were
kept from recognizing him.
Then their eyes were opened and they recognized
him, and he disappeared from their sight.
19. - In our nature, are our spiritual eyes blind
and for that reason we cannot see the Glory of God?
20. - Do we need a revelation coming from God
for our spiritual eyes to be opened?
21. - Why Elisha’s servant could not see what
the prophet of God was looking?
22. 2 Kings 6:15-17
When the servant of the man of God got up and went
out early the next morning, an army with horses and
chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord!
What shall we do?” the servant asked. “Don’t be
afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with
us are more than those who are with them.” And
Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may
see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and
he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots
of fire all around Elisha.
23. - Can we see the spiritual world around us
with our natural eyes?
- How many times appeared Jesus to his disciples
after his resurrection?
24. 1 Corinthians 15:5-8
and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the
Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five
hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same
time, most of whom are still living, though some
have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James,
then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared
to me also, as to one abnormally born.

(Epicurus)
28. Luke 24:36-43
While they were still talking about this, Jesus
himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace
be with you.” They were startled and frightened,
thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, “Why
are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your
minds? Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself!
Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and
bones, as you see I have.”
29. Luke 24:36-43
When he had said this, he showed them his hands
and feet. And while they still did not believe it
because of joy and amazement, he asked them,
“Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave
him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it
in their presence.

31. John 20:24-29
Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the
Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus
came. So the other disciples told him, “We have
seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see
the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where
the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will
not believe.”
32. John 20:24-29
A week later his disciples were in the house again,
and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were
locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said,
“Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put
your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand
and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me,
you have believed; blessed are those who have not
seen and yet have believed.”
33. - Why did Jesus told Thomas to stop doubting?
- What did he had to believe?
- The disciples testimony or Jesus?

in the kingdom of God?
- What happens to those who now believe in the
redemptive work of Christ on the cross? Blessed
- How long was Jesus with his disciples
before the ascension?
35. Acts 1:1-5
The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that
Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in
which He was taken up, after He through the Holy
Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom
He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself
alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs,
being seen by them during forty days and speaking of
the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
36. Acts 1:1-5
And being assembled together with them, He
commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but
to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He
said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly
baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with
the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”.
37. - Were there doubts regarding the appearing of
Jesus in those days? Infallible proof
38. - Is the promise of the baptism of the Holy Spirit
also for us today?
39. - What do we need to do to receive that promise?
40. Luke 11:13
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to
your children, how much more will your heavenly Father
give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!?
41. - Who tells us to ask
and we shall receive?
- Is God’s desire to give us revelation
of Himself through His Holy Spirit?
- Who takes the initiative? God
- Is the baptism of the Holy Spirit required?
42. - Was Jesus referring to this baptism when he told Nicodemus
that we must be born of the spirit?

to those who are in Christ Jesus,
who do not walk according to the flesh,
but according to the Spirit.
44. - Do we need our spirit to be regenerated in order
to have communion with God?
- Can we change without the help of the Holy Spirit? No
- After fulfilling his promised, what did Jesus do?
45. Acts 1:9-11
Now when He had spoken these things, while they
watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him
out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly
toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men
stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men
of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven?
This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into
heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him
go into heaven.”

47. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the
trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in
the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
48. - What will happen with the dead? All of them?
- What does it mean to be ‘caught up’ in the clouds?
- Can we fly with the bodies we actually have?
- How will this happen?
49. 1 Corinthians 15:51-53
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the
trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this
mortal must put on immortality.
50. - Will we have an incorruptible body like Jesus?
- What trumpet is Paul referring to?
- What happened after the sound of the last trumpet
in revelations? Revelations 11:15-16
- Will everyone resurrect?
51. 1 Corinthians 15:20-26
But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become
the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since
by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection
of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all
shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ
the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His
coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the
kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all
rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till
He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy
that will be destroyed is death.
52. - Will the unbelievers and rebellious resurrect too?
- Which rule, authority and power will Jesus put an end to?
Satan and his angels
- How Christ is going to defeat the enemy of death?
53. 1 Corinthians 15:54-55
So when this corruptible has put on incorruption,
and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be
brought to pass the saying that is written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”

O Hades, where is your victory?”
54. - Will death have power over our new body?

mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed
into the same image from glory to glory, just as by
the Spirit of the Lord.
56. - Into which image are we being transformed? Jesus
- Is God recreating us into his own image and likeness?
- What does it mean to be transformed
into the image of Jesus?
57. Ephesians 4:23-24
and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
and to clothe yourselves with the new self,
created according to the likeness of God
in true righteousness and holiness.
58. - Does the word of God has the power to renew our minds?
59. - What is the Truth?
- Is not the Word of God the only truth?

He also predestined
to be conformed
to the image of His Son,
that He might be the firstborn
among many brethren.

- How do you make one?
- What instructions left us Jesus before leaving?
63. - What are the good news? The Gospel

- In whose name are we baptized?
64. Romans 10:8-10
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your
mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith
which we preach): that if you confess with your
mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that
God has raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved. For with the heart one believes unto
righteousness, and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation.
65. WHAT DID WE LEARN TODAY?
- Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophesies with his life and death.
- There is no hope of life without Jesus Christ.
- We are going to resurrect in incorruptible bodies.
- The natural eyes cannot see the Glory of God,
unless He allows it.
- The resurrection of Jesus proved, without a doubt,
the truthfulness of his words.
- We must be baptized in the Holy Spirit
in order to be regenerated into the image of Jesus.
- Our righteousness is the righteousness of Christ
and our justification His sacrifice on the cross.
