2. These are the first nine shots in the opening 30 seconds of our teaser, the first shot will be an establishing shot to let the
audience know the setting of our teaser as well as giving them an insight to the genre of the film. The next three shots the
audience will be an introduction to the character of Alexa, she is presented as the antagonist however there is someone who is
controlling her actions. These shots give the audience the first clue to what the story is about. The next two shots build up the
first aspects of the party atmosphere and the final two shots in this section of the story board allows is a way of characterizing
Alexa giving and idea to the audience who she is.
3. The first shot in this section shows Alexa receiving a number of threatening text messages from an un know number asking her to
do something. This is to leave the audience in the dark slightly building suspense and ambiguity around this character. The
reviews are to be shown on a black screen to not distract from the main image and to have more of an impact. The next four
shots represent shot between Nadia and Alexa reverse shots where the shots are panning upwards. The final shot in this section
is our tag line, to get across what our branding is.
4. These shots will be presented in a very fast pace sequence, to really reflect the part atmosphere. They will be shown as a montage of all the
different aspects of the party. The third shot will show Nadia sitting alone on the sofa trying to integrate herself into the part. We will the see the
main aspect of out plot shown in the forth shot in this sequence. Here we will see a red cup and a mysterious substance being dropped into the
liquid. This suggests that someone's drink is being spiked. After seeing the tag line displayed “die for the sesh” we will then see someone holding
the cup and in the distance Nadia will be sitting on the sofa.
5. This is the final aspect of the teaser and will be seen as one single shot through the use of continuity. We will
see Nadia drinking the spiked drink…the audience will see this happen and see her fall to the ground, leaving
the audience wandering what and who did this and why. The teaser will then end on a coming soon. This will
then lead to buzz as the teaser has ended on a dramatic note.
6. Why make a storyboard?
The purpose of a storyboard is to help tell the story through artistic vision, it
is the first visual aspect of the movie making process which allows the
director and editor to see what they have envisioned come to life. It is a rough
guide to the sequence and order of each shot giving all members of the film
making process an idea as to what direction the film is heading in. The
process of story board making often takes time and precision as it must
replicate the perspective and angle used for every shot. As well as also giving
a brief description of what each shot involves. They enable everyone on set,
mainly the director to spot any problems before the filming and editing has
begun in order for them to be fixed promptly.
