Good morning!
We are from Tea and Toast UX consulting agency and for the next 15 min will be talking about a project we been working on
Before we begin lets introduce ourselves.
J — talk about brief
identify where in the app we are introducing this feature
research how people edit photos for printing
find out who is the target audience
R — today we are going to talk about
the research we did
prototyping and iterations we implemented
walk through of the final prototype
M — first we are going to dive into research
In this section we will…
Talk about brand,
Our business and competitive analysis
Talk about the online surveys
and
user interviews.
M —
Instagram was created ….loook at slide
we kept these in mind at all points of the design process
R —
200 users world wide - 43% 18 - 29 years old
R—
Reach 1 percent of instagram users there is a potential of $750 million a year
J—
full of competititers
Moo (wide product range / too many choices / TIME CONSUMING
Prinstagram (clean /enjoyable EXPENSIVE)
Bypost (single product / good price / BAD DESIGN
M— We created a thought out survey of 10 questions and these are some interesting facts
printing habits
every one shares their photos on instragram and fb … decreased with age
3) if they don't print, why now
18-24 Age Group
M — focus on theses age groups 43% of instgramers are 18-29
Focus on solving:
1)Expensive
2)Hassle
3) Sharing on Social media is enough
R—
Abbey and Zoe based on our research
this helps design process
R— keys facts
24 years old / tech davy / social media / goals CHEAP / MOILE purchaser
R— keys facts
36 years old, new mother/ tech savy / social media / goals quality and convenience ….. mention quote
J —
Print Selection ( Photo gallery or instagram)
Printing option (quantity & size <Strip , Mini, Regular, large)
Check out (quick)
user flow journey steps they take to accomplish a task
Showing only zoes because it overlaps abbys needs as well
select and edit from insagram and camera roll
M —
after we created our user flows we proceeded with sketching wireframes.
We tested them on users using prototyping software.
M — We started off with paper prototypes to articulate our ideas
we sketched wireframe incorporating all our must have features
We discovered through user testing there where too many steps /
Combined Screens /simplified
we did 3 iterations before proceeding to digital
R — we Digitalized paper prototypes
further pop testing
Iterations
1) discovered users wanted to select photos before the product selection
2) users wanted to save credit card details for future
3) change icon quantity selection was confusing to - +
J— after round 3 user testing
Changed the thank you screen (adding more information)
added a proper cart and a keep shopping button
added credit card details confirmation page before paying
It’s there when you need it but not in the way.
