Malusen the labrador
1. Malusen– The Labrador www.malusen.com/
We, author Finn Bech Christensen and business partner Lis Walker, a small Danish publisher; “Malusen-
Land”, have established in California, USA. The publisher’s books are based on the Danish author Finn
Bech Christensen 32 manuscripts to a series of books about the Labrador for children and youngster.
We want the introduction of the two main books and two books from the adventure series' (30 books),
to take place in the United States. Kickstarter is a unique opportunity for creative people to raise funds
for their project and we hope that our project, Fairy Tales and stories about the Labrador will have the
Americans' interest, so we can succeed with our project, as the Labrador is chosen as the no. 1 breed in
the USA.
The ancestors of the Labrador exterminated
The two introductory main books ”The Genesis of the Labrador” and ”The
Dogs in St. Johns”, describes the actual and most fantastic story about the
very close course of the extermination of the Labrador, and how it was elimi-
nated in the very last minutes. The two books and the following 30 in the se-
ries, ”Fairy tales and stories of the Labrador” is written with a highly factual
content in a humoristic and empathetic way, making it a true pleasure for the
whole family to listen to, or read.
Lis Walker says: “When the Danish author, Finn Bech Christensen, about 7
years ago, more or less was persuaded to be a Labrador owner, he hardly
knew that a breed of that name existed. Then, when his previous girlfriend so
deeply wanted a classic yellow Labrador, he felt it was his duty to find out
what kind of dog it was, so he could support its development in the right and correct way, giving the
puppy good life and utilise the qualifications the dog was born with.
During the author’s research he became very amazed of the knowledge he gathered about the Labra-
dor. This research also led him to the fact that the master ancestors of the Labrador, St. Johns Water
Dog was actually extinct in its own homeland, Newfoundland. The author hereafter decided to pass on
the eye opening story, and the first book “The Genesis of the Labrador” was written. It was soon fol-
lowed by the second main book “The Dogs in St. Johns”, plus 30 other books, telling about the fantastic
properties of the Labrador.
Lis Walker says: “When the Danish author Finn Bech Christensen told me about his books and the uni-
verse of products that was built around them, in order to stimulate children’s behaviour- and language
learning I was very overwhelmed. I have a son who struggled very much with his early reading and writ-
ing learning, due to dyslexia, and I could have wished for him that MalusenLand was available at that
time. That would have made life so much easier for him.
I was asked, due to my 18 years of experience as managing director and market researcher in an inter-
national company, if I was interested to assist the author to market and introduce this book- play- and
learning concept into the American market. He kindly asked me to read the first book “The Genesis of
the Labrador” and look into the learning concept, which I did, and I must admit I was sold!

2. Market introduction
The two main books “The Genesis of the Labrador” and “The Dogs in Saint Johns” will be published
through malusen.com and will be available in 3 formats; a-book, e-book and print on demand.
The books describe the actual and most fantastic story about the very close cause of extermination of
the Labrador, and how it was eliminated in the very last minutes. They are written with a highly factual
content in a humoristic and empathetic way, making it a true pleasure for the whole family to listen to,
or read. Just a great experience that you and your child would love to read, over and over again.
We are convinced that the subject; “The Labrador” is interesting for many Labrador loving Americans
as it has been chosen as America's national dog with 8 million registered Labradors in the United
States and of course also for other Labrador lovers throughout the World.
And why should the Labrador be of interest? For the simple reason that the dog we today take for
granted was on the extent of extinction just 100 years ago. At that time, the Labradors ancestors called
St. John's Water Dog was totally exterminated in his homeland, Newfoundland. The dog was rescued,
and survived at four English Noblemen. On their hunting kennels they had about 450-500 dogs, and it is
those dogs that are today named the Labrador which have grown to a population of 30 million within a
time span of 60 years. Not many know the true story and the fate of the Labrador.
History of the Labrador shows, that it is not useless to make an effort to endangered species, even
though there are very few specimen left. The history of the Labrador, is an eye opener for skeptical
people, who do not believe, that a rescue effort, can change the sad factum, that man to date has nev-
er before exterminated animals on account of a short-lived economy.
Project funds requirements $ 138.500
As all the books and project material are presently in Danish and only in plain file formats, we need
funds for all preparations towards their releases.
We seek funds through pledging amounting to $ 138.500, covering preparation of the books and puz-
zles for sale. Translation and narration of the 4 books into English. Graphical production and setup of
the digital products and print on demand books. Preparation of files for downloads to pc, tablets and
smartphones.
INTRODUCTION OF THE TWO MAIN BOOKS:
The Genesis of the Labrador
344 pages / a-book 7½ hr.
Read about the 4 miracles that saved the breed from extermina-
tion in four themes: The genesis, the evolution, the extermina-
tion and the resurrection in England. The fate of the Labrador is
unknown to most people. Most people believe that the Labrador
is an English dog. The truth however shows that its origin is from
New-foundland, where for many centuries, it was a good and
helping working dog for fishermen and hunters. The book tells
the story of how a European breed got Arctic properties, and how
the Arctic dog ended up in England, and became the dog we
know today as the Labrador and how it got that name.
3. The Dogs in St. John’s
The successor to the Genesis of the Labrador!
150 pages / a-book 2½ hr.
Read about how the dogs in an exciting and dramatic action tried
to save as many of their friends and girlfriends from death.
The dogs had for a long time sensed from their owners that some-
thing was very wrong. They were no longer allowed to run freely
and play in the harbor or beach as they used to when they were
not out fishing or hunting. They also noticed that from one day to
the other, one or more of their fellows didn’t arrive on the harbor,
as they used to. Where have they suddenly gone? They just
couldn’t understand!
The dogs decided to use their collective intelligence and knowledge
about people and their behavior, and generated that knowledge to
implement some intelligent and exciting action. There have never been any explanations for those
events! Police investigations have never led to any solution, and no one has been charged
INTRODUCTION OF THE 30 BOOKS IN THE SERIES OF:
”FAIRYTALES AND STORIES ABOUT THE LABRADOR”
The 30 books in the “Fairytales and stories” series are based on observations from Malusen in its eve-
ryday life and turned into its universe of thinking as a dog. This communication with other species on
its tours exploring the World, make these stories extremely funny and at the same time very skilled.
Also added to it is a touch of great philosophy and thorough explanation. I will call it the “hidden learn-
ing” books to everyday life for children.
The author, Finn Bech Christensen, has always been a passionate story teller,
and his calm voice for sure oozes of presence and coziness when you are lis-
tening to the a-books on malusen.com, and he says; “When I, a few years ago,
fell in love with little “Malusen”, that was only 7 weeks old, it wasn’t predict-
ed that my new little puppy should inspire me to write 30 books for children,
all about her, her friends and her great family of Labradors
– And even create a whole universe for children on the internet, where they
are able to meet Malusen in all possible connections, but as I wondered
around and “spoke” with Malusen during the days, the stories and adventures
slowly began to form into the books you can read today.”
”I hope, that the books and Malusen will bring closeness and togetherness
between children and parents, and inspire to a lot of funny questions from the children – and perhaps
all involved will learn something about the Labrador? One thing is for sure, a lot of questions is asked
like, who, what, where why, when and how, when I am chatting with Malusen in the books”. Finn Bech
Christensen has built his stories up as cozy conversations between father, dog and Malusens friends.
Here are all my books about Malusen with stories from puppy, adventuring and fun!
Each quarter we will release a new Malusen book from the series

7. Further to the publications of: “The Genesis of the Labrador” and “The Dogs in St. Johns”, we have
decided to publish two books from the series: Fairy tales and stories about the Labrador, namely:
“Malusen and the seagull Hugo” and “Malusen and dairy cow Mary”
Along with the books we will also publish jigsaw puzzles with illustrations from the books.
Malusen and the seagull Hugo
150 pages / a-book 2½ hr.
This book is dedicated to one of Malusens good friends down at
the harbor. That's the big seagull Hugo. Hugo tells Malusen that
the other gulls and birds from the colony call him “Hugo the thief
nose”. He is a little upset about that, but he understands why. He
also tells Malusen a little about who he is and where he comes
from. Then Hugo talks about how he enjoys people's efforts to
create a better environment for both animals and humans. But
what seagull Hugo is most excited about is the so called "great
open outdoor restaurants with a buffet." The Sea Gull Hugo call
these restaurants extraordinary educational, because he has to
work a little to achieve all the lovely food.
Malusen and the dairy cow Marry
150 pages / a-book 2½ hr.
Mary the dairy cow tells Malusen about her relatives, who after
being tamed has lived with humans for more than 8 thousand
years. The dairy cow Mary also tells Malusen that the cows lived in
large flocks when they were wild, and how the big bull looked af-
ter the flock. The dairy cow Mary also tells Malusen about her four
stomachs, and how all the grass that she eats makes her less so-
ciable. Malusen is telling the dairy cow Mary that she is made out
of something that tiny that you are unable to see it. Mary the
Dairy Cow can’t understand that you can be something and be
seen; when you are made out of something you can’t see. Mary
8. the Dairy Cow gets a little scared. Mary the Dairy Cow tells Malusen about her little secret, but only if
she is quite sure that Malusen will not squeal to the farmer, as she is afraid to become an omega-cow,
instead of what she is today: an Alfa cow.

”I’ve had the pleasure in reading Finn Bech Christensen’s first Malusen stories a couple
of years ago in order to give him some advice and guidance about the texts. Finn has
really got an idea for a great story about a dog specie that families and dog lovers in big
parts of the World will have their lives enriched by – and that in conjunction with his
ability to write in a level, where both children and adults are listening, I believe Ma-
lusen will become a great success. And the good thing about Finn is, that no matter –
whether he is telling with his pen or his voice, the reader or the listener will immedi-
ately get caught in his universe. And what a universe! It is fantastic to follow and find that Finn Bech
Christensen not only has one book or one story inside him about the wonderful Labrador Malusen, but
has built up a whole world of printed books, e- and a-books, games, competitions and much more. And
then it is not just entertaining to read or listen about Malusen – you also become wiser!”
Kind regards Mikael Strøm Eriksen

About Finn Bech!
It’s always a pleasure working with Finn Bech – he’s highly intelligent and has pure fun-
ny bones. His person is calm and pleasant, and he tends to bring professionalism to the
table, at all times.
I was very surprised to find out that his voice fits the listening ear so well – with his
soft, calm and collected style, he is perfect for reading out his own kids’ books – and
the kids love him.
I would definitely recommend for any parent with a stressful work schedule, to put on his readings eve-
ry once in a while. In that way, they will secure that their kids will get into a serious storytellers world.
To a place where the dog ’Malusen’ gets to be their friend, as well as teacher! ‐ And furthermore gets
to use both their imagination and share knowledge about the breed Labrador.
Kind regards Carsten Jung

I’ve been so lucky to come across Finn Bech through my network. During a meeting, I
was introduced to Finn Bech’s MalusenLand concept. A project Finn Bech has spent a
lot of time on over several years both with his writing but also with forming the prod-
ucts and business structure of MalusenLand.
Finn Bech has clearly stated his requirements concerning IT and we have held several
meetings to define details and functionality, and on which platforms MalusenLand are
being developed to interact with. With regards to the design of MalusenLand’s homep-
age it was already described and outlined down to smallest detail in a very professional way. My duty
as an IT developer was to form Finn Bech’s ideas into saleable products.
I was also introduced to the exciting printed books, e-books and a-books, and the jigsaw puzzles that I
found very great. MalusenLand is not just a web portal but a complete digital online trade platform.
Finn Bech had in advance made a thorough research on which online platform to be used and modified
to Malusens DigiShop. Here Finn Bech has chosen the American software supplier i-Dev, and my task is
16. to integrate design, several modules and the flow in Malusens DigiShop.
The whole issue around the DigiShop was already thoroughly examined and formalized, and ready to
be developed. These prior studies made development much easier for me as an IT supplier because
Finn Bech wisely is using already developed standard systems / platforms that are working and are very
user friendly with a common thread through all flows.
Finn Bech is, due to his business- and IT experience, able to formulate his wishes and formation of Ma-
lusenLand’s homepage and DigiShop. That is a great relief for me as it’s making it easier to transform
his wishes into the IT-language and describe the necessary requirement specifications to the program-
mers. In the future, I will appear as advisor, IT supplier and webmaster for malusen.com.
I have personally read and listened to the Malusen books and read them to my daughter of 5½ years
old. I must say, this is not just about stories and a dog. Malusen is a World that the children will get
connected to very quickly and want’s to read and hear more and more stories. That’s what I experi-
enced with my daughter, and we are both looking forward to get more printed books, e-books and a-
book, plus all the beautiful and creative puzzles, in the future.
I see a huge potential in MalusenLand Worldwide, both in USA, Europe, Asia, and Africa – anywhere!
And as previously mentioned MalusenLand is not just stories about a cute dog but something children
easily get connected to, and all children have something they want to get close to, and here Malusen
will no doubt become their best friend!
Kind regards Haris Aftab (Malusen fan and software supplier for MalusenLand)

During the last couple of decades I have had relations to Finn Bech Christensen – some periods closer
than others. During all these years I have always admired Finn Bech Christensen for his distinctive abil-
ity to think “out of the box” and thus look away from traditions.
Finn Bech Christensen and Lis Walker have previously worked together around development of unique
business concepts. Now they have obviously done it again!
This time Finn Bech Christensen has created a new concept, which among others, makes it possible for
children to acquire language skills through play and games. In my point of view, “MalusenLand” simply
contain enormous possibilities to become both an educational and commercial success.
My experience with Finn Bech Christensen and Lis Walker is telling me, that exactly this partner con-
stellation will secure a relevant implementation of this new project and lead “MalusenLand” towards
an international success.
Kind regards Mogens Lauridsen
