PROCEDURE ADOPTED
Teacher explains the meaning of the word lanky, frowning, and depot both in English as
well as Malayalam. The teacher also explains to the students to devise an innovative method for
improving vocabulary. The teacher, herein, instructs the students to create a private Dictionary of their
own wherein each page shall be labeled with a single alphabet of a word. To this book, a student shall
enter all those complicated words which they come across in the class in the appropriate page with a
2. detailed explanation/illustration to decipher the meaning (in the language they understand). A student
on being confronted with such difficult words in future shall refer to this private Dictionary for
understanding the meaning. This exercise not only reinforces the new word, but also helps the students
in writing clearly, alphabetizing and even understanding how to create/ use a Dictionary.
